Wake Up Right - August 15, 2024
Good morning, Wake Up Right fam. A new survey reveals why Kamala Harris is surging in the polls… Americans don’t know about her radical record. Here's what the Media Research Center found:
75% unaware Harris named most liberal senator in 2019
73% unaware Harris co-sponsored the Green New Deal
71% unaware Harris supports reparations
81% unaware Harris supports killing private health insurance
The media isn’t going to tell voters, so we need to be the messengers. If you have a crazy liberal friend or family member, let them know what they’re voting for.
👍️ 88% of Democrats are happy with Harris as nominee
👍️ D.C. ranks as least desirable place to live in U.S.
📄 46% of all job seekers are using AI tools to apply
👍️ Hollywood Titan, Paramount, is cutting 15% of jobs

Trump pledges to lower energy costs by 50%
Former President Donald Trump promised to slash energy costs by 50% if he is re-elected, speaking at a rally in Asheville, North Carolina on Wednesday.
The quote: Trump told the crowd: “I am announcing today that, under my leadership, the U.S. will commit to the ambitious goal of slashing energy and electricity prices by half — at least. Half!”
The numbers: Trump gave a range of between 50-70% in price reductions and pledged to do it within 12 to 18 months of taking office.
How would he do it? Throughout his campaign, Trump has promised to “unleash American energy” by reducing barriers for oil and natural gas companies to “drill, baby, drill.”
Back up: Under Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’ leadership, energy costs have skyrocketed. Electricity prices have soared roughly 30%, and gasoline prices are up 33%.
Big picture: This is the latest in a string of populist economic policies proposed by Trump. In recent weeks, he’s also advocated for eliminating taxes on tips for service workers and on social security for senior citizens.
How long before Kamala steals this policy, just like she stole his ‘No tax on tips’ plan?

Inflation is still hurting Americans, despite rosy spin on July report
The Biden-Harris regime celebrated a slightly lower-than-expected July inflation report, but while they pop champagne corks, a closer look at the numbers reveals Americans are still suffering.
The details: July inflation grew by 2.9% compared to one year ago, slightly lower than the 3% economists were predicting.
Good news: It’s the first time it’s been under 3% since March 2021.
Bad news: Everything else…
Under the shiny hood of the July report, there is corrosion. While prices for certain goods have gone down, many of the core items Americans need to live are still painfully high:
⚡️ Electricity: +4.9%
🏢 Rent: +5.1%
🏠️ Mortgage: 5.3%
🏥 Hospital visits: +6.1%
🚘️ Car insurance: +18.6%
🥩 Beef: +4.5%
🥓 Bacon: +8.5%
🥚 Eggs: +19.1%
🧈 Butter: +6.1%
Zoom out: 2.9% inflation is still well above the Federal Reserve’s target rate of 2%.
Zoom out further: Overall, prices have risen 20.3% since Biden and Harris took the White House in January 2021.
Trumpenomics: During Donald Trump’s four years as President, the average inflation rate was 1.9%.
What Biden is saying: He held a celebratory press conference and barked orders at the media, saying: “My policies are working. Start writing that way. Okay?"
What is Harris saying? Nothing. A scroll through her X profile reveals no commentary on the inflation report, suggesting she is trying to run as far away as possible from ‘Bidenomics’ despite being the co-pilot.
Big picture: Polls continue to show that inflation is one of voters' top concerns. If Trump can effectively prosecute Harris for the pain voters are feeling in their wallets, he can win in November.
