Trump executive order seeks to limit mail-in ballots

President Donald Trump signed an executive order Tuesday night aimed at eliminating fraud in mail-in ballots – putting himself in the driver's seat on election security while his SAVE America Act sits stalled in the Senate.

The details: The order directs the Department of Homeland Security to build a verified list of eligible American voters and tasks the U.S. Postal Service with ensuring absentee ballots only go to people on that list.

  • Absentee ballots must be placed in envelopes with specific tracking barcodes.

  • The order also directs the Attorney General to prioritize prosecuting officials or entities that distribute ballots to ineligible voters.

  • Timeline: States would receive the confirmed voter list at least 60 days before each federal election.

Why now? Trump is acting unilaterally because the SAVE America Act [his signature voter ID and mail-in reform bill] is stuck in the Senate, blocked by the 60-vote filibuster threshold Democrats are using to kill it.

What is the SAVE Act? It's Trump-backed legislation requiring voter ID and proof of citizenship to register, aimed at tightening mail-in ballot rules.

What do Americans think? When pollsters laid out all the provisions in the SAVE Act, 71% said they supported it.

What the left is saying: Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer suggested Democrats plan to challenge the order in court, writing on X: “See you in court. You will lose.”

Real talk from G: Schumer’s right on one thing: this is headed straight for the courts. But politically, Trump already wins – he’s forcing Democrats to argue against voter verification measures most Americans support.

The latest salacious claims about Charlie Kirk’s death

The Daily Mail is backtracking after publishing a headline suggesting the bullet that killed Charlie Kirk "did NOT match" the rifle tied to suspect Tyler Robinson – a grossly misleading statement prioritized clicks over truth.

The details: The Daily Mail headline read: "Bullet used to kill Charlie Kirk did NOT match rifle allegedly used by suspect Tyler Robinson, new court filing claims."

  • The article is based on a motion filed by Robinson's defense team that cites an ATF summary report saying it was "unable to identify" the bullet recovered during Kirk's autopsy and link it to the rifle used by Robinson.

Back up: Robinson is facing capital murder charges – and potential death penalty – for assassinating Charlie Kirk on September 10.

Here’s the reality: According to law enforcement sources, the reason the ATF was "unable to identify" is that the bullet hit bone on impact and fragmented, making ballistic matching physically impossible. A retired FBI supervisory agent put it bluntly: " Inconclusiveness is not exoneration.”

So there’s no evidence connecting Robinson? Not true. The spent shell casing found at the scene did positively match Robinson’s rifle. And Robinson's DNA was found on the rifle, the towel it was wrapped in, and three of the four rounds still inside.

Slimey journalism: The Daily Mail eventually ran a follow-up article titled that fact-checked their original reporting, where they cite a ballistics expert who told them “it was not unusual with rifles for the bullet not to be matchable to the firearm.”

  • The Daily Mail put this fact-check behind a paywall. So you can read the slime for free, but the truth comes at a cost.

The last word goes to TPUSA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet, who called the headline "an egregious example of media malfeasance, designed to profit from the online conspiracy industry."
