Good morning, Wake Up Right fam! There’s a lot of very important news to dive into today, but I think we need to start with one that affects us all… Showers.

For decades, the federal government has waged war on those of us who like a high-pressure shower — restricting the power of water in your homes in the name of water conservation.

Yesterday, President Trump signed an executive order to Make Showers Great Again and remove those water pressure restrictions. During the signing, he said:

• “In my case, I like to take a nice shower, take care of my beautiful hair. I have to stand in the shower for 15 minutes until it gets wet. Comes out drip, drip, drip. It’s ridiculous.”

Trump pauses global tariffs — except on China

President Trump announced a pause on tariffs for all countries except China — after more than 75 countries reacted out to begin trade talks with the U.S.

The details: In a post on Truth Social yesterday, Trump laid out the updated plans:

• 90-day pause on reciprocal tariffs

• All tariffs lowered to 10%

• China is excluded and will see its tariffs increase to 125%

Why the change? Trump blamed China’s “lack of respect” for its increase and “the fact that more than 75 Countries have called... to negotiate a solution" for the 90-day pause.

• Back up: Over the past week, China had racheted up its tariffs on the United States to 84%.

Real talk on China: I’m going to turn the mic over to Shark Tank’s Kevin O’Leary, who, several hours before Trump raised tariffs on China, had this brilliant analysis:

• "They cheat. They steal. They steal IP. I can't litigate in their courts. They take product, technology, they steal it, they manufacture it, [and] they sell it back [in the U.S.]… This is not about tariffs anymore. Nobody has taken on China yet… and finally [we have] an administration that puts up and says ‘ENOUGH.’”

• “Xi can only stay the Supreme Leader if the people are employed. If we wipe out any business there — because we are still 39% of all consumables on Earth and 25% of the world’s GDP. America is the number one economy on Earth with all the cards. It’s time to squeeze Chinese heads into the wall NOW.”

A GREAT TIME TO BUY: On Wednesday morning, Trump told his Truth Social followers, "THIS IS A GREAT TIME TO BUY!!!" and he wasn't joking. Four hours later, he announced the tariff pause, and the stock market went bananas - with all three major indexes climbing between 6-10%.

What happens next? The White House made clear that the tit will use the 90-day pause to finalixe trade deals with many of the 70+ countries that have reached out since he announced his reciporical tariffs. As for China, Trump said: “China wants to make a deal, they just don’t know quite to go about it."

In the end: Trump implemented 10% global tariffs and kicked off a trade war with China, and instead of freaking out, markets and our trade partners said “THANK YOU.” That is what you call The Art of the Deal.

House passes bill to curb rogue judges

The GOP-controlled House passed a bill aimed at stopping "rogue" federal judges' ability to derail President Donald Trump's ability to carry out his policies.

The details: The No Rogue Rulings Act passed 219-213 with near-unanimous GOP support and zero Democratic votes. It aims to stop federal judges in liberal corners of the country from making rulings that affect the entire nation [nationwide injunctions]. Instead, their decisions could only apply to the people directly involved in the case.

Back up: Since Trump took office, rogue left-wing judges have instituted over 15 nationwide injunctions that have stalled his policy agenda — from immigration reform to anti-DEI efforts.

• The most egregious example of this judicial activism came from Judge James Boasberg, who ordered the Trump administration to “turn around” deportation flights of alleged MS-13 gang members despite national security concerns.

Wise words: Rep. Randy Feenstra from Iowa said, "There is no reason a district judge should block policies backed by 77 million Americans."

What’s next? The bill now heads to the Senate, where it faces an uphill climb to secure the 60 votes needed to advance.
