Nvidia building AI entirely in the U.S.

Nvidia will manufacture its AI supercomputers and chips “entirely in the U.S.” for the first time — a shift that President Donald Trump credits to tariffs.

The details: As part of its $500 billion commitment to produce up to $500 billion in AI infrastructure in the U.S., Nvidia announced it has secured a million square feet of space to build and test its Blackwell chips in Arizona and AI supercomputers in Texas.

• Mass production at both plants is expected to accelerate in the next 12-15 months.

• Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang said, “The engines of the world’s AI infrastructure are being built in the United States for the first time."

Economic impact: The initiative is “expected to create hundreds of thousands of jobs and drive trillions of dollars” into the U.S. economy.

AI building AI: ​Nvidia is using virtual factory models and its intelligent robots (called Isaac Groot) to improve and automate its production lines, creating a system where AI helps build and enhance other AI technologies.

Trump's take: The 47th president said, “This is big. And it’s because of Nov. 5 — and tariffs. Without tariffs, they wouldn’t be doing it.”

One giant leap for womankind

Blue Origin launched its first all-female crew Monday — including celebrities Katy Perry and Gayle King — on a suborbital mission to the edge of space that left spectators underwhelmed.

Back up: Blue Origin is the space company founded by billionaire Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos in 2000. It achieved its first crewed spaceflight in 2021. Its mission is to reduce the cost of access to space and eventually “Harness the Vast Resources of Space.”

Who’s on board? The company's 11th human space flight, known as NS-31, launched pop star Katy Petty, TV host Gayle King, Jeff Bezos’ fiancée Lauren Sanchez, NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, producer Kerianne Flynn, and activist Amanda Nguyen

The details: The women were launched 65.7 miles above Earth — just above the edge of space — before safely touching down in Texas 11 minutes later. Their total time in space was only four minutes.

Bummer: Fans were disappointed to learn the live stream was limited to generic shots of the rocket — no shots from inside the cabin. And when Katy Perry sang “What a Wonderful World” in Zero-Gravity, the moment wasn’t filmed or released.

• Model and actress Emily Ratajkowski criticized the mission on TikTok, saying it was "built and paid for by a company that’s singlehandedly destroying the planet."

Social media winner: Fast food chain Wendy’s brought the LOLs when it commented on a post on X that welcomed Katy Perry back to Earth, responding: "Can we send her back."

Real talk from G: Let’s call it what it is — a publicity stunt. And there’s nothing wrong with that. I remember back in 2018 when Elon Musk launched a Tesla Roaster into outer space during the maiden voyage of the SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket. But at least Elon let us see it happen!
