Trump sells Americans on finishing the Iran war

President Donald Trump went primetime Wednesday night to make the case that Operation Epic Fury is nearly won — and that finishing the job in Iran is an "investment in your children and your grandchildren's future," not another open-ended Middle East war.
The details: In a 19-minute address from the White House Cross Hall, Trump laid out where the 32-day campaign stands and what comes next.
He declared Iran "essentially really no longer a threat," Fox News saying the U.S. has destroyed its nuclear program, blown apart its ballistic missile production sites, and wiped out its senior leadership.
Trump warned that two to three more weeks of heavy strikes are coming and that if no deal is reached, the U.S. will hit every Iranian power plant, likely all at once.
He pointedly noted that the U.S. hasn't struck Iran's oil infrastructure yet — not because it can't, but because doing so would eliminate any chance of Iranian recovery or rebuilding. That card is still on the table.
Not an open-ended war: Trump framed the conflict against America's longest wars – pointing out that WWI involvement lasted over a year, Vietnam dragged on for nearly two decades, and Iraq stretched past eight years. Operation Epic Fury: 32 days.
“Allies” need to step up: He also told allies that countries dependent on oil through the Strait of Hormuz need to secure it themselves – a sharp break from decades of U.S.-guaranteed defense.

Going back to the f***ing moon

NASA launched its Artemis II mission on Wednesday, pushing humans farther into space than ever before in a high-stakes test run for America’s return to the moon.
The details: The Artemis II mission launched Wednesday evening at 6:35 p.m. EDT from Kennedy Space Center, carrying NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch alongside Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen aboard the Orion spacecraft.
Record books: The crew will fly several thousand miles beyond the moon on a free-return trajectory, reaching a farther point from Earth than any human in history — surpassing the Apollo 13 record.
The return: Splashdown is scheduled for April 10 in the Pacific Ocean after a roughly 10-day, 685,000-mile journey.
Smooth sailing? A minor ground-based communications issue during launch did not affect the rocket or spacecraft.
Why it matters: This wasn't just a joyride – It was a systems test that unlocks everything that comes next, culminating with astronaut boots on the moon by 2028 and ultimately a permanent moon base.
Back up: This is the first crewed test flight to the Moon since Apollo 17 in 1972 [however, that was a Moon landing].
Geopolitics: The U.S. is sprinting towards 2028 because China has its own ambitions to put boots on the Moon by 2030. Welcome to the new space race.
The Commander-in-Chief weighs in: President Donald Trump congratulated NASA and the Artemis II crew during his address to the nation last night, adding:
"God bless them, these are brave people – unbelievable astronauts."
What comes next? Next year's Artemis III will test docking with lunar landers from SpaceX and Blue Origin in low-Earth orbit. After that, Artemis IV aims to put boots on the moon.
The last word goes to a kid who was at the launch. CNN asked him why he wanted to be there. His response was epic:
“We're going back to the f***ing Moon, that’s why!”
