Trump renovates COVID.gov website

The White House has given its COVID-19 guidance page a major makeover, redesigning it as a resource for the “true origin” of the virus, strongly indicating it leaked from a gain-of-function lab in Wuhan, China.

The details: The revamped page, titled "Lab Leak: The True Origins of COVID-19," highlights five key findings:

1. COVID-19 has a biological trait "not found in nature."

2. All cases stem from a single human introduction, unlike previous pandemics.

3. Wuhan’s top SARS lab conducted risky gain-of-function research at low biosafety standards.

4. Wuhan Institute researchers fell ill with COVID-like symptoms months before the first cases were linked to the wet market.

5. "By nearly all scientific measures," evidence for a natural origin should have surfaced by now, but hasn’t.

If you’re a longtime Wake Up Right reader, you already knew all these facts. But it’s good to see them documented on a U.S. government website.

The Fauci Factor: The page also slams Dr. Anthony Fauci for prompting the publication of the influential "Proximal Origin of SARS-CoV-2" paper, which aimed to discredit the lab leak theory and push the narrative that the virus came from nature.

Big picture: The Trump admin says a lab-related accident involving gain-of-function experiments is the "most likely" cause. It warns that U.S. and global oversight of such research remains "incomplete and dangerously flawed."

RFK Jr. launches autism studies

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is making good on a key pillar of the ‘Make America Healthy Again’ movement — using the powers and resources of the federal government to investigate if environmental factors are behind the rapid rise in autism.

The details: Last week, Kennedy Kennedy unveiled startling new data on autism rates, as well as the Trump administration's plans to commission a series of studies to identify “precisely what environmental toxins” are behind it.

The data: RFK Jr. discussed new data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which found:

• 1 in 31 children are now diagnosed with autism

• 25% of those cases are classified as “severe”

• 1 in 20 American boys has autism

• 1 in 12.5 boys in California has autism

Perspective: In 1992, the rate of autism in children was 1 in 150.

Action: Kennedy is mobilizing “hundreds of scientists from around the world” to study whether six "environmental toxins" — pesticides, mold, food chemicals, medicines, air and water contamination, and ultrasound scans — are contributing to the rise in autism.

What the opposition says: The non-profit Autism Speaks says the rise is due to “increased public and professional awareness of autism” and says environmental factors “likely account for only a small part of the increase.”

What happens next? Kennedy has pledged that HHS’s testing and research effort will find the root cause of autism by September.

The last word goes to Kennedy, who said: “Autism destroys families, and more importantly, it destroys our greatest resources, our children.”

About two months ago, I was at a butcher in my neighborhood and saw a diagram of a cow, with all the cuts of meat labeled. And that gave me an idea for a t-shirt:
