Good morning, folks! Another month, another new record-low number of border encounters. CBP reports that in July, just 24,628 illegals were encountered – a 90% drop compared to the same time last year. It's also the lowest number ever documented.

And the best part: Not a single one of them was granted entry into the U.S. homeland.

Schiff caught red handed leaking

A career Democrat intelligence official has come forward to blow the whistle on Senator Adam Schiff, who he says repeatedly authorized leaks of classified information during Russiagate to politically damage President Donald Trump.

The details: According to FBI memos that FBI Director Kash Patel turned over to Congress, the whistleblower worked for Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee for over a decade, and he repeatedly warned the FBI beginning in 2017 that Schiff was approving leaks to the press.

• Prior to working with Democrats, the whistleblower spent two decades in the intelligence community.

Political motive: A summary of the whistleblower’s interview with the FBI said: “Ranking member [Schiff] was particularly upset, as he had believed he would have been appointed as the director of the CIA had candidate [Hillary Clinton] won the election."

The system: The whistleblower claims Democrats had an established process for leaks: First, sensitive info went to Schiff. Next, he would decide who leaked it. Rep. Eric Swalwell was named as a repeat leaker.

They knew it was criminal: The whistleblower "stated this would be illegal and, upon hearing his concerns, unnamed members of the meeting reassured that they would not be caught leaking classified information.”

Back up: Schiff constantly apeared on cable and network news through 2017-2018 to peddle the Russia collusion hoax, once claiming it ws the "size and scope probably beyond Watergate." And he was saying this while conspiring to leak classified intelligence.

What happens next? Expect Congressional hearings over whether Schiff's actions constitute criminal misuse of classified intelligence. Additionally, U.S. Attorney for D.C. Jeanine Pirro confirmed she will be personally investigating Schiff.

Inflation keeps cool

Inflation beat forecasts [AGAIN] in July, despite fears that President Donald Trump's sweeping tariffs would raise the cost of goods.

The details: The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 2.7% year-over-year in July, matching June’s pace and beating economists’ forecast of 2.8%. The cooling rates were led by key areas of the economy, including energy, food, and shelter. Some the month-over-month highlights include:

• 🍖 Food at home: -0.1%

• 🥚 Eggs: -3.9%

• ⛽️ Gasoline: -2.1%

• 🔋 Electricity: -0.1%

• 💨 Home gas: -0.9%

• 🚗 Car lease: -0.4%

• 💊 Prescription drugs: -0.2%

• 🏡 Shelter: +0.2%

JOBS: In July, real wages (inflation-adjusted) rose 1.3%. 

Zoom out: Critics of President Trump’s sweeping tariff policies have repeatedly claimed that they would lead to inflation. This has yet to materialize.

• The U.S. collected nearly $30 billion in tariffs in July – bringing the annual total to more than $150 billion so far.

Time to lower rates? President Trump cited the July report while bashing Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell's refusal to lower interest rates, saying:

• “Jerome ‘Too Late’ Powell must NOW lower the rate... The damage he has done by always being Too Late is incalculable. Fortunately, the economy is sooo good that we’ve blown through Powell."

What the markets are saying: Stocks rallied after the report, with all three major indexes making gains – including all-time highs for the Nasdaq and S&P.
