Brain Rot is a term used by young people on social media to describe the "deterioration of a person's mental or intellectual state" stemming from overconsumption of online content.

Biden issues sweeping pardon for Hunter

Joe Biden issued a sweeping pardon for his son, Hunter, despite repeatedly pledging not to use executive authority to help him escape punishment for his many crimes.

The details: In an official pardon released late Sunday, Biden wrote: “Today, I signed a pardon for my son Hunter" and blamed "several of my political opponents in Congress" for instigating the investigations into his crimes.

• The pardon comes days before Hunter was set to be sentenced after two separate convictions — one for federal gun charges and another for federal tax evasion — where he was facing potential prison time.

Read between the lines: The order gives Hunter "A Full and Unconditional Pardon" for crimes "which he has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 1, 2014 through December 1, 2024."

• In other words, Hunter is also absolved of charges not yet brought against him — like the ones related to his shady business deals in Ukraine and China. Remember, 10% for the Big Guy?

Back up: Biden has at least twice claimed he would not pardon Hunter. On June 6, he told ABC News, “No” when asked if he would issue a pardon. And on June 13, 2024, Joe explicitly told the press, “I will not pardon him.”

Hypocrite, much? As his DOJ targeted Trump the last four years, Joe Biden often said, “No one is above the law.”

Making history: Joe Biden is the first and only U.S. president to pardon his son for federal crimes.

What is the left saying? They’re fuming. Left-wing pundit Chris Cillizza encapsulated the anger, writing: “A colossally selfish decision that will allow every Trump supporter to note that Democrats say one thing and do another.”

Trump’s reaction: The President-elect responded on Truth: “Does the Pardon given by Joe to Hunter include the J-6 Hostages, who have now been imprisoned for years? Such an abuse and miscarriage of Justice!”

Big picture: Next, let’s watch to see if Joe gives a blanket pardon to his brother, James — another player in the Biden family's foreign money scheme.

Trump Kashes In

President-elect Donald Trump nominated longtime ally Kash Patel to lead the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

The details: In a Truth Social post on Saturday, Trump wrote:

• “Kash is a brilliant lawyer, investigator, and “America First” fighter who has spent his career exposing corruption, defending Justice, and protecting the American People... This FBI will end the growing crime epidemic in America, dismantle the migrant criminal gangs, and stop the evil scourge of human and drug trafficking across the Border."

Kash’s resume: Kash began his career as a public defender in Florida before joining the Department of Justice as a terrorism prosecutor.

• When the Deep State conspired to tie Donald Trump to Russia after his 2016 election win, Kash was brought onto the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence by then Rep. Devin Nunes to spearhead its own investigation. Under Kash, the committee helped expose “Russia collusion” as a hoax.

• Kash was later elevated to Trump's National Security Council and became Chief of Staff to the Secretary of Defense.

• After Trump left office, Kash wrote a book titled Government Gangsters — a deep-dive on the ‘Deep State.’

What you can expect: On a recent episode of the Shawn Ryan Show [before the nomination], Kash said:

• "I'd shut down the FBI Hoover building... on day one and reopen it the next day as a museum of the Deep State... And I'd take the 7,000 employees that work in that building... And send them across America to chase down criminals."

Big picture: Kash is as MAGA as it gets, and it further proves that Donald Trump is serious about his commitment to dismantling the Deep State in his second term.

The last word goes to CNN panelist Tiffany Smiley, who said: "The fact that people here in DC — DC insiders and people within the FBI, perhaps — don't want Kash is a really good sell to the American people."
