Bezos detoxes the Washington Post Opinion page

Billionaire Amazon founder and owner of the Washington Post, Jeff Bezos, is mandating the newspaper's Opinion page focus on personal liberties and free markets — a dramatic shift for the paper known for its leftist and globalist slant.
The details: In a post on X, Bezos shared his vision for the change:
“We are going to be writing every day in support and defense of two pillars: personal liberties and free markets… viewpoints opposing those pillars will be left to be published by others.”
“I am of America and for America, and proud to be so. Our country did not get here by being typical. And a big part of America’s success has been freedom in the economic realm and everywhere else. Freedom is ethical — it minimizes coercion — and practical — it drives creativity, invention, and prosperity.”
The backlash: The paper's Opinion page editor, David Shipley, resigned over the new Bezos mandate. Subscribers took to social media to share screenshots of their subscription cancellations, including cable news analyst Jeffrey Gold, who declared the move the "Last straw."
Bezos' political shift: Weeks before the 2024 election, Bezos announced that the Post would not endorse a presidential candidate, denying his liberal editorial staff the opportunity to back Kamala Harris.
Post-election: In December, Bezos and his wife, Lauren Sanchez, dined with then-President-elect Trump at Mar-a-Lago. The tech titan donated $1 million to Trump's inauguration fund and attended the inauguration.
The numbers: The Washington Post boasted 2.5 million subscribers as of October 2024. However, after Bezos’ decision not to endorse a candidate, the paper saw a 10% purge.
The last word goes to journalist T. Becket Adams, who made me laugh with his post on X, which read: “My personal theory is that Bezos finally picked up a copy of WaPo last year and actually read what was in it.”

Exposing the fake DOGE protests

Protests against Elon Musk’s government spending cuts — framed as grassroots backlash — were orchestrated by left-wing groups backed by Soros-funded organizations.
Background: For weeks, protests have taken place at Republican town halls nationwide, targeting Musk and the cuts being made by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Reality check: The protests were organized by left-wing activist groups Indivisible and MoveOn, which received grants from left-wing billionaire megadonor George Soros.
Indivisible got over $10 million from Soros-linked donors
MoveOn accepted millions directly from Soros' Open Society affiliates
The media lies: Mainstream media outlets like The New York Times, CBS, and The Washington Post have cited these protests as proof of bipartisan outrage against Musk. But none of their articles mention the organizers' partisan ties.
Example of media propaganda: One of the faux organic protests took place at a town hall for Georgia Republican Rep. Rich McCormick. CBS reported on the "backlash" and included a quote from a woman named Maggie Goldman, describing her as a McCormick constituent.
The truth is: She does not live in McCormick’s district. She’s a Democrat political activist who helped Pete Buttigieg’s failed 2020 presidential campaign. CBS made no mention of this.
What do Americans think? 76% support the DOGE mission "to find and eliminate fraud and waste in government.”
Big picture: Isn’t it ironic that the left is opposed to a billionaire [Musk] participating in the Trump administration’s efforts to cut waste — but it has no problem with a billionaire [Soros] funding fake protests?
