Happy Friday, Wake Up Right fam. President-elect Trump will be sentenced in the Manhattan “hush money” case today, and I know many are not happy about this, but I think there is an upside to it:
The sentence is no longer waiting for him at the end of his presidency.
Now, he can quickly move to appeal the conviction and clear his name.
I understand that this sentencing allows Democrats and the media to say a “convicted felon” will be sworn in as president, but, honestly… Let them. Nobody cares what they say. 🤷♂️

Court blocks Biden from putting boys in girls’ sports
A federal judge blocked Joe Biden's attempt to redefine Title IX to allow boys into girls locker rooms and sports teams — likely the final blow in this battle, as Donald Trump takes office in ten days.
Open your History textbook: Signed into law in 1972 by Richard Nixon, Title IX prohibits sex-based discrimination in federally funded education programs, paving the way for girls and women to earn scholarships in both sports and academics.
The details: A Kentucky U.S. District Court judge ruled yesterday that the Biden regime’s attempt to re-write Title IX to include protections for people who identify as transgender was illegal, writing:
“[T]here is nothing in the text or statutory design of Title IX to suggest that discrimination 'on the basis of sex' means anything other than… the person’s sex, i.e., male or female."
Back up: The Biden regime's Department of Education, under Education Secretary Miguel Cardona, attempted to expand the law to include discrimination based on a person's gender "identity."
Zoom out: If Biden's rule was allowed to go through, it would have forced schools to allow boys to participate in girls' sports and use girls' locker rooms, showers, and bathrooms.
What to expect when Trump takes over: He has repeatedly, throughout the 2024 campaign, pledged to "keep men out of women's sports."
Big picture: The court put it best when it said Biden’s attempt to change Title IX would “exceed the Department’s authority under Title IX, violate the Constitution, and are the result of arbitrary and capricious agency action.”

Los Angeles Wildfires Update
Four major wildfires continue to burn through areas of Los Angeles, as the confirmed death toll climbs to 10 in what officials are calling one of the most destructive natural disasters in the history of Los Angeles."
Updated numbers: It's estimated that more than 10,000 homes and buildings have been destroyed or damaged. More than 180,000 residents have been forced to evacuate their homes.
Quote: Los Angeles City Fire Chief Kristin Crowley called the wildfire in the Pacific Palisades "one of the most destructive natural disasters in the history of Los Angeles."
Containment: The Pacific Palisades fire, the largest of the four spanning over 20,000 acres, is only 6% contained.
The good: Winds are calmer today, and firefighters hope to use the window of calm to contain the fires.
The bad: The LA County Sheriff reports it has made multiple arrests of people looting homes that have been evacuated. Evil.
The ugly: Police have arrested an arsonist who is responsible for one of the fires [we won't call it a wildfire since it was arson] that burned through 1,000 acres and is still 0% contained.
