Happy Friday! My guilty pleasure is watching the Democrats own themselves. And yesterday they treated us to an all-time banger…

@TheDemocrats official X account posted a graphic blaming rising food prices on “Trump’s America.” But their own chart showed the price spikes all happened under Biden.

Within hours, they quietly deleted it, but too late. The internet never forgets.

  • 🏛️ Supreme Court approval is at a 5-year high

  • 🇺🇸 Pro wrestling legend Hulk Hogan died at 71

  • 🤰 U.S. fertility dropped to an all-time low

  • 📉 Trump approval avg: 45.3% approve, 52.8% disapprove

Trump tours bloated Fed renovation, pushes chair to lower interest rates

President Donald Trump toured the Federal Reserve and grilled Chair Jerome Powell over the project’s $3.1B price tag — using the scandal to apply pressure for interest rate cuts.

Let’s set the table: Trump has been urging Fed Chair Jerome Powell to cut interest rates for months, pointing to cooling inflation. But Powell has refused, prompting Trump to brand him “Too Late,” accusing him of stalling the economy and weighing down Americans with high borrowing costs.

Why doesn’t Trump fire him? Trump may lack the authority to fire Powell over policy disagreements, and doing so could rattle markets. But if there's cause? The Fed’s $3.1B renovation scandal might be it. Trump suggests Powell may be committing fraud, wasting taxpayer dollars to build himself a “palace.”

The tour: Speaking in front of the press, wearing hard hats, Trump confronted Powell on the total cost jumping from $1.9 billion in 2021 to $3.1 billion today.

  • Powell appeared caught off guard and refuted the $3.1 billion figure, saying, “I’m not aware of that.”

  • But Trump responded by showing him a print-out of the costs, directly from the Federal Reserve.

  • Powell tried to suggest it was a previously built building, but Trump reminded him, “It’s part of the overall work.”

  • Trump, a real estate developer at his core, said he would normally "fire" the project manager if this were his project.

Trump's real target: When asked by the press what Powell could do to ease criticism, Trump said: Well, I’d love him to lower interest rates.” and gave the Fed chair a friendly slap on the back.

Zoom out: It's worth noting that Powell cut interest rates three times last year [to try and help Biden/Kamala?] when inflation was higher than it is today.

Real world effect: Powell's high interest rates are strangling homebuyers, pushing mortgage rates above 6.8% and inflating home prices. This has resulted in new home sales hitting their slowest pace since October 2024.

What’s next: The Fed meets next week. All eyes on Powell.

Trump tackles homelessness

President Donald Trump signed an executive order to end widespread street homelessness, calling on states to move vagrants, addicts, and the mentally ill into treatment centers.

The details: In an executive order titled "Ending Crime and Disorder on America's Streets," Trump redirected federal funding to prioritize institutional care – including substance abuse facilities, civil commitment, and long-term facilities.

  • States and cities that crack down on street camping, drug use, and squatting will get grant priority.

Zoom out: Roughly 274,000 people were sleeping on the streets last year under the Biden regime. And “tent cities” have popped up in many Democrat-run areas, plagued by open-air drug use, crime, and squalor.

What’s the big deal? It’s a public safety issue. According to the order, the “overwhelming majority of these individuals are addicted to drugs, have a mental health disorder, or both.” Roughly two-thirds are taking hard drugs like meth and other opioids.

  • Failing to address it leaves other citizens vulnerable to “disorderly behavior, sudden confrontations, and violent attacks.”

What does the law say? Last year, the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 that cities have the right to issue fines to people who camp on public property.

What the White House is saying: Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said, “The Trump Administration will ensure that Americans feel safe in their own communities and that individuals suffering from addiction or mental health struggles are able to get the help they need.”

Real talk from G: We should be compassionate towards the homeless. But enabling them is not compassionate.

A few months ago, I was at a butcher in my neighborhood and saw a diagram of a cow, with all the cuts of meat labeled. And that gave me an idea for a t-shirt:

DOGE Butcher Shop — but instead of the cow, we use a pig. And the cuts of meat in the diagram represent all the waste, fraud, and abuse being butchered by the Trump admin.

Over the last few weeks, I worked with a really talented graphic designer who brought it to life. And on Friday I got a sample in the mail and I’m happy to say, it came out better than I’d hoped.

Also, my wife told me I had to mention that the t-shirt it’s printed on is Comfort Colors. Apparently, they’re well-known for high-quality materials. I just chose them because they are printed in the U.S. and made with 100 U.S. cotton.
