Today is the start of “PRIDE Month” – a months-long celebration best known for sexualized LGBTQ+ parades and events like Drag Queen Story Hours.

But around here, we’re bringing back something better…

🇺🇸 American PRIDE Month

A few years ago, we flipped the script and used June to celebrate the country we love – and with America’s 250th birthday right around the corner, we’re bringing it back.

📧 Hit reply to this e-mail and send me your story of American PRIDE. Tell me about the moment, person, place, sacrifice, memory, or belief that makes you proud to be an American. It can be patriotic. It can be personal. It can be funny. It can be emotional. It can be completely unfiltered.

I’ll read every reply – and throughout the month, share some of the best ones with the Wake Up Right fam.

So let’s hear it: What makes America great to you?

NJ Gov admits ICE riots are not organic

The anti-ICE protests outside a detention center in Newark, New Jersey, hit their ninth day this weekend, turning increasingly violent – but even the Democrat governor admitted this isn't a grassroots uprising…

Set the table: Masked rioters hurled projectiles, set tires ablaze, and rammed police barriers outside the Delaney Hall detention on Friday. New Jersey State Police moved in – arresting six people and clearing the crowd with tear gas and officers on horseback.

The headline: Following the arrests, Democrat Gov. Mikie Sherrill admitted who was really behind the madness.

  • "Five of the six people arrested last night by State Police were from outside New Jersey," Sherrill said, adding that "national extremist groups have become involved."

  • Fox News reporters captured signage from the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), the Progressive Labor Party, and other hard-left outfits.

Real talk from G: This was the exact vibe I had been getting. As a lifelong New Jersey resident, I know what our left-wing nutjobs look and feel like. The ones at Delaney Hall feel more like West Coast lib anarchists you see in Portland.

The money machine: Behind the masks sits an organized operation. The protests are coordinated in part by the New Jersey Alliance for Immigrant Justice — a coalition of 50+ activist groups including the ACLU-NJ and the NJ Working Families Party. Undercover footage showed "medics" handed ~$100 of brand-new gear each.

  • Up the chain: Marxist tech tycoon Neville Roy Singham, who funds pro-CCP causes from Shanghai, has poured $285 million into the network since 2017.

Follow the money: Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent says the crackdown is coming. New IRS rules will force nonprofits to vet their grant recipients — and own the liability if those recipients turn violent.

  • 💬 Bessent promised, "a lot to report" in the "weeks and months ahead."

In related news: Marxist Twitch streamer Hasan Piker turned up at Delaney Hall to cheer the rioters on. He's currently being investigated over a March trip to Communist Cuba.

  • 💬 And on a stream titled "FEDS ARE AFTER ME," Piker named Singham as the "funding vehicle" behind "a lot of political movements" — the first time a network insider said the quiet part out loud.

Big picture: When even a Democrat governor admits the rioters are bused-in extremists, the "spontaneous outrage" narrative collapses.

MAHA war on ticks

Ticks are making Americans allergic to red meat — and the bites are spiking to near-record levels. Now the Trump administration is going to war with them.

Red meat allergies? Yes. Alpha-gal syndrome is a red-meat allergy you can develop from a single tick bite. It first popped up in the U.S. in 2009. The reaction is delayed and easy to miss – hives or worse, often showing up hours after a meal.

The details: HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. rolled out a sweeping federal offensive to take on ticks on Friday during the New Hampshire stop on his “Take Back Your Health” tour. The plan includes:

  • 🐮🦌 A CDC-led pilot to wipe out ticks on wildlife before they ever reach people, starting in New England.

  • 💵 Three innovation contests offering up to $2.5 million, including a $2 million prize for using AI to speed up diagnosis.

  • 🥩 NIH-funded research into alpha-gal syndrome.

  • 🌐 A new partnership letting patients find Lyme-experienced doctors at hhs.gov/lyme.

  • 🏥 Educating doctors across the country on how to recognize Lyme disease

Big quote: Kennedy said: “We are going after this disease at its source, driving faster diagnostics and new prevention strategies, and delivering the urgency and action Americans deserve.”

The numbers: More than 476,000 Americans are diagnosed with Lyme disease every year. ER visits for tick bites recently jumped from 39 to 137 per 100,000 across ten Midwest states in a single month. Roughly 500,000 people already live with alpha-gal.

Back up: This builds on LymeX – a Trump-era partnership with the Cohen Foundation that has already brought two new Lyme tests to market – and the 2019 Kay-Hagan Tick Act, which set up the first national strategy to fight tick-borne disease.

The goal is to reduce Lyme disease cases by 25% by 2035.
