Good morning, my friends! If you don’t hear from me tomorrow, it’s not because I’m celebrating Juneteenth — it’s because I was trampled by Knicks fans.
My train runs through Hoboken, New Jersey, which today becomes the staging area for every NJ fan heading into NYC for the Knicks’ victory parade.
I love the Knicks. And ten years ago I’d have probably been there cracking my first beer by the time this newsletter hits your inbox. Today, I am the proverbial grumpy old man yelling: “Get off my train!”

Foreigners raped 250K white girls while U.K. turned a blind eye

A bombshell crowdfunded report says British grooming gangs raped a quarter-million girls while the state knowingly looked away – and Elon Musk says the officials who let it happen belong in prison.
The details: Restore Britain MP Rupert Lowe released a 200-plus-page independent inquiry this week into decades of organized child rape by predominantly Pakistani men.
The numbers: The report concludes that grooming gangs operated in 149 local authority districts, and estimates that at least 250,000 mostly white, working-class girls have been exploited since the 1950s.
The inquiry was funded entirely by public donations – roughly $1.1 million from more than 23,000 supporters.
The following section is hard to read. Please be warned.
The brutality: The report's testimony is harrowing. Survivors described being drugged, gang-raped, trafficked, tortured, and blackmailed with filmed assaults – and the authorities meant to protect them did nothing.
One girl was raped by between 30 and 80 men, most of whom were never charged.
Another was blinded by acid while trying to escape her abusers.
One victim was told that if she didn't return, the gang would rape her younger sister instead.
The NHS recorded genital injuries, sexually transmitted infections, and rape-induced pregnancies in children as young as 13 – then discharged them back to their abusers.
When one mother called police for help, an officer told her she should be "happy your daughter is experiencing a different culture," then hung up.
…sadly, I actually spared you some of the most horrific stories.
Complicit Brit government: The report accuses the state itself of complicity. It charges that gangs "operated with either the active or passive consent of public authorities" and calls the scandal a "rotting stain" on Britain's history.
Elon Musk wrote on X: “The politicians who turned a blind eye to the Rape of Britain must go to prison."
What the report demands: It calls for:
Life in prison for organized child rape.
Deportation of convicted foreign nationals.
A dedicated prosecution unit shielded from "community impact" pressure.
Possible prosecutions against officials who failed victims.
Real talk from G: There are sentences in this report no human being should ever have to read about another person's child. And here's what truly boils the blood: they knew. The cops knew. The councils knew. The politicians knew. They looked at working-class girls – CHILDREN – and decided they were an acceptable price to dodge an uncomfortable conversation about who was doing the raping. These animals belong on a boat back across the English Channel. Or under it.

🇺🇸 Today’s story comes from Rich.
My Polish father was liberated from Dachau concentration camp by the US Army where he served as forced labor under the Nazi regime. After working to clean up the camp he was offered a chance to re-settle in the USA. I came to the USA in 1951(3yrs old) with my parents on a US Military transport ship thru Ellis Island and settled in Chicago. My parents spoke no English and had $10 to their name(came from a person at Travellers Aid). They worked hard all their lives in factories and achieved the American dream with a house, a car and a comfortable life they could not have had otherwise. They died having a full life and loved our country.
I often think of what my life may have been had my parents not accepted the offer to emigrate to the USA. I officially became a US Citizen at age 16 and still have my Citizenship Certificate which I cherish. I am Proud to be an American.
ICYMI: We’re reclaiming June as American PRIDE Month — a celebration of the country we love, the people who built it, and the stories that remind us why America is worth defending.
Got a story about why you’re proud to be an American? Reply to this email and send it my way. I’ll feature my favorites all month long.

Cali made businesses prove they were gay enough for contracts

California spent years quietly steering hundreds of millions in utility contracts toward businesses certified as "LGBT-owned" – and now the Trump Department of Justice is challenging whether it’s legal.
The details: Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon announced she's opened an inquiry into the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), which regulates the state's privately owned utilities.
Discrimination: The probe targets the agency's "Supplier Diversity Program," which pushes utilities to hit a "voluntary" target of buying 1.5% of contracts [roughly $633 million a year] from state-certified LGBTQ-owned firms.
To qualify, business owners must pass an official certification, including letters from LGBT organizations, a physician or therapist's note confirming transgender status, or evidence of "discriminatory action."
Back up: The program started in 1988 to promote women- and minority-owned businesses, then expanded in 2014 under then-Gov. Jerry Brown to include LGBT-owned companies.
The legal question: In 1996, California voters voted to pass Proposition 209 which bans preferential treatment based on race, sex, and ethnicity – and they upheld it again in 2020. Critics say a program that hands out contracts based on sexual orientation runs straight into that ban. Dhillon is encouraging companies that lost bids to sue.
The last word goes to a transgender contractor who landed utility work, put it plainly to City Journal: "If I was a straight, white male, I might be concerned I don't have the same opportunity. It worked out great for me."
