Happy Juneteenth…
There’s a lot of controversy around the holiday. At its core, it’s a celebration of the 1865 anniversary of the announcement of the abolition of slavery in Texas – a worthy observance, especially for Black Americans.
But it’s become a cultural flashpoint because it was elevated to a federal holiday only after the George Floyd race riots of 2020.
My take? I don’t think it needs to be a federal holiday. But I’ll take the day off.

Tulsi declassifies Fauci files

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard released a trove of newly declassified documents that her office says show Dr. Anthony Fauci funded the dangerous Wuhan research now linked to COVID-19's origins, quietly steered U.S. intelligence toward a natural-origin story, and then lied to Congress about it under oath.

One contractor was fired days after speaking up, and analysts who backed the lab-leak idea were reminded that bosses decided who got promoted.
Gabbard says she handed multiple whistleblower accounts to the Intelligence Community's watchdog.

Baseball team forfeits as players refuse to wear LGBTQ uniform
The York Revolution, an independent minor league baseball team in Pennsylvania, forfeited its own Pride Night game Thursday after several players refused to wear rainbow-sleeved jerseys.
The details: The Revolution, two-time defending Atlantic League champions, wanted its players to wear rainbow-sleeved jerseys for their 11th annual “Pride Night” game against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs.
📜 Management scolds players: The team released a statement, saying: “This action by the players is completely inconsistent with our vision as the Most Welcoming Place in York.”
