Trump’s Bibi beef?
President Donald Trump unloaded on Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu in a profanity-laced Monday call, furious that Israel's escalation in Lebanon was about to blow up his fragile peace push with Iran.
The details: Hours earlier, Iran threatened to walk away from U.S. negotiations over Israel's strikes on Hezbollah – just as Netanyahu ordered fresh attacks on the militia's stronghold in Beirut. Trump called Bibi to pump the brakes, and didn't hold back.
Trump called Netanyahu "crazy" and reminded him that his support had kept the Israeli leader out of prison, per Axios. He warned that bombing Beirut would further isolate Israel around the world. Axios By day's end, Israel shelved its Beirut strikes and Hezbollah accepted a U.S. ceasefire proposal.
Full quote: Per Axios, a U.S. official summarized Trump's message to Netanyahu: "You're f---ing crazy. You'd be in prison if it weren't for me. I'm saving your ass. Everybody hates you now. Everybody hates Israel because of this."
Why Trump’s mad: Iran insists any agreement must also cover Lebanon, so every Israeli strike there hands Tehran an excuse to bolt. Trump's message was blunt: not even his closest ally gets to torpedo the bigger prize.
What Bibi is saying: Netanyahu pushed back publicly, saying his position "remains the same.” But one U.S. official told Axios that Trump "steamrolled" Netanyahu on the call, with Bibi conceding, "OK, OK."
The GOP split: The leak cracked open the right's deepest foreign-policy rift.
🦅 Hawks blame the leaker: Mark Levin called the Axios story a "VIOLATION OF FEDERAL LAW," and said whoever leaked it did a "grave disservice" to Trump, Israel, and the country.
🤨 The skeptics are skeptical: Republicans who have opposed the war with Iran, like Thomas Massie, are raising questions. Massie wrote on X: “The more Netanyahu prevents the war with Iran from ending, the more obvious it becomes that he convinced Trump to start it.”

Make D.C. beautiful again
President Donald Trump has quietly transformed the nation’s capital from a graffiti-stained mess into a showpiece ahead of America’s 250th birthday.
Back up: A March 2025 executive order, “Making the District of Columbia Safe and Beautiful,” handed the National Park Service a mandate to clean up federal parks, clear encampments, and restore monuments before July 4. The “Make D.C. Safe and Beautiful Task Force” launched that month and has been grinding ever since.
The numbers:
🚮 Crews removed more than 500 instances of graffiti and 250 truckloads of debris from city ponds.
👨🔧 Workers repaired 1,695 lights, fixed or installed 1,143 benches, and cleaned 45 monuments.
⛺️ 152 homeless camps have been cleared, with services offered to those displaced.
The highlights:
⛲️ Meridian Hill’s cascading fountain (which was dry for decades and overgrown) is flowing again and drawing ten times the visitors.
⛲️ The Columbus fountain outside Union Station was rededicated last week. Sixteen months ago, the site was a homeless camp covered in pro-Hamas graffiti.
What’s next: Crews are resurfacing the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool and a 250-foot triumphal arch near the Lincoln Memorial is also in the works, though it won’t be finished in time for the anniversary.
Critics call it cosmetic, noting at least $67 million in National Park entrance fees was redirected to the projects. Supporters counter that a capital welcoming the world for its semiquincentennial shouldn’t look like a dump.
Make DC safe again: Since Trump’s order, homicides plummeted, with DC notching its first 21-day stretch without a killing in nearly 30 years. Carjackings and robberies posted double-digit drops versus the prior year.
The last word goes to Sec. of the Interior Doug Burgum, who said: “Decline is a choice, and we will continue this important work to ensure D.C. remains the greatest, safest and most beautiful capital in the world.”
