Good morning, Wake Up Right fam! I usually try to stay as far away from New York City as possible. But the New York Public Library may have just twisted my arm…
From July 1 to July 7, Thomas Jefferson’s handwritten copy of the Declaration of Independence will be on display.
It’s a rare chance to stand in front of one of the earliest versions of America’s founding promise.
That alone might be worth dodging cracked-out homeless and illegal aliens.

Trump DOJ moves to strip citizenship

The Justice Department is seeking to strip citizenship from 17 naturalized citizens who hid serious crimes – including child sex abuse, multimillion-dollar fraud, and drug trafficking – to secure their U.S. status.
The details: The move represents the largest-ever effort by the U.S. to use its denaturalization powers. The 17 targets allegedly lied under oath about crimes that would have blocked their citizenship. They include:
A Haitian man who allegedly abused his minor daughter while applying for citizenship, and a Colombian-born Catholic priest who groomed a parishioner from ages 11 to 13.
A Cuban-born woman, Leidys Delmas Garcia, admitted running 30 Florida physical therapy clinics that fraudulently billed Blue Cross Blue Shield roughly $36.7 million.
Andrea Marroquin, daughter of a Colombian drug kingpin, allegedly laundered her late father's drug money into Miami real estate before naturalizing in 2009.
Can Trump do this? Under federal law, citizenship can be revoked when it's obtained through fraud or willful concealment – exactly what DOJ alleges here. If denaturalized, they can be deported.
The numbers: Between 1990 and 2017, the DOJ filed an average of just 11 denaturalization complaints per year. The Trump administration is reportedly targeting 100–200 cases per month.
The last word goes to Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, who said: “Gaining U.S. citizenship is a privilege and under the steadfast leadership of President Trump, this Department of Justice maintains a zero-tolerance policy for the abuse of this process."

Judge voids Trump’s H-1B visa speed bump

An Obama-appointed judge struck down President Donald Trump's $100,000 fee on foreign H-1B workers – meant to stop corporations from replacing American employees with cheaper foreign labor.
The details: U.S. District Judge Leo Sorokin of Massachusetts vacated the policy, siding with a coalition of 20 Democrat-led states that sued to kill it.
Sorokin ruled the $100,000 charge "is a tax, regardless of what the payment is called" – and Congress never authorized it.
He rejected the administration's claim that the fee was an "unreviewable presidential action."
The case is California v. Mullin out of the District of Massachusetts.
Back up: Trump signed the proclamation in September to stop corporations from using H-1B visas to avoid hiring American workers for higher pay.
The debate: The Democrats argued the fee would worsen teacher shortages and gut staffing at public universities and hospitals.
The White House countered, saying the program is "deliberately exploited to replace, rather than supplement, American workers."
The numbers: Roughly 650,000 H-1B workers — mostly from India — hold white-collar U.S. jobs at any given moment.
Real talk from G: Make no mistake. These left-wing, radical judges hate you. They’d rather you and your children suffer if it means more foreigners in the United States, increasing their party’s power.

Today’s story comes from Eileen.
My American pride runs deep. All four of my grandparents were immigrants who arrived in America by ship, alone, and passed through Ellis Island to begin their new lives as American citizens.
My grandparents came from Spain and Ireland, facing tremendous challenges as they worked to adapt to American culture. Despite experiencing racism and hardship, they never accepted welfare. Instead, they worked multiple jobs, raised strong families, and fully embraced the opportunities this country offered. They were deeply proud to be Americans. My grandfather from Spain proudly served in the U.S. military — a title he carried with honor until the day he passed.
I am proud of my heritage and grateful for the sacrifices they made. Because my grandparents were the first generation in my family to become American citizens, I proudly consider myself a third-generation American.
ICYMI: We’re reclaiming June as American PRIDE Month — a celebration of the country we love, the people who built it, and the stories that remind us why America is worth defending.
