Trump strikes Iran’s main oil export hub
President Donald Trump ordered a major U.S. bombing raid on Iran’s Kharg Island - the regime’s most important oil export hub, while deliberately sparing the island’s energy infrastructure.
The details: U.S. Central Command carried out the strike Friday, hitting more than 90 Iranian military targets on the Persian Gulf island – including naval mine depots, missile storage bunkers, and other strategic facilities.
Trump said the operation “totally obliterated every military target” on the island.
Target strategy: The U.S. intentionally avoided destroying the oil terminal, which handles the vast majority of Iran’s crude exports, leaving it as a negotiating chip, with Trump warning:
“Should Iran… interfere with the free and safe passage of ships [through the Strait of Hormuz], I will immediately reconsider this decision.”
Why Kharg Island matters: The small island is roughly the size of Central Park. But it’s the center of Iran’s oil export system.
About 90% of Iran’s crude exports pass through Kharg and can load roughly 7 million barrels per day.
Much of the oil is shipped to China and India.
Back up: In Trump's 1988 book "The Art of the Deal," he wrote of the Iranians: "One bullet shot at one of our men or ships, and I’d do a number on Kharg Island.”
Zoom out: The strike comes as the world eyes the Strait of Hormuz. While Iran's fighting capabilities have been decimated (missile attacks down 90%, drone attacks down 95%), it's not difficult to cause chaos in the Strait of Hormuz – perhaps the world's most critical oil shipping checkpoint.
Roughly 20 million barrels – roughly 20% of global oil supply – flow through the Strait every day.
Global impact: Since the start of the war with Iran, oil prices have hit $100 per barrel, and U.S. gas prices currently sit at an average of $3.71 per gallon – up from $2.92 a month ago.
Strait security by committee: President Trump has called on other nations who rely on oil from the Strait of Hormuz to step up and participate in patrolling the key trade route, writing on Truth Social that "the Countries of the World that receive Oil through the Hormuz Strait must take care of that passage, and we will help — A LOT!”

“Hopefully China, France, Japan, South Korea, the UK, and others, that are affected by this artificial constraint, will send Ships to the area so that the Hormuz Strait will no longer be a threat by a Nation that has been totally decapitated. One way or the other, we will soon get the Hormuz Strait OPEN, SAFE, and FREE!”

Illegal alien adult gropes high school classmates
An adult illegal alien student in Virginia has been charged after multiple female classmates accused him of repeatedly groping them in school hallways – highlighting the threats posed to children by illegal aliens.
The details: Police arrested El Salvador national Israel Flores Ortiz, an 18-year-old junior at Fairfax High School, after a series of alleged assaults inside the school. Victims allege Ortiz approached from behind and grabbed them between the legs.
Parents say the attacks occurred over several months as students changed classes in crowded hallways.
Ortiz faces nine counts of assault and battery.
School plays word games: Families of the victims say the school initially downplayed the severity of the incidents, sending out a letter describing the conduct as “inappropriately touching students’ buttocks” – wording at odds with what the girls allege.
One parent said: “[The county] attempted to diminish what happened to these girls.”
Immigration status: Ortiz entered the United States illegally in 2024 and was released into the country by the Biden regime.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) lodged a detainer request seeking custody of Ortiz for deportation, but the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office declined to honor it, citing local sanctuary policies.
Zoom out: The Fairfax County Sheriff's Office does not cooperate with ICE unless there is a judicial warrant. Local police do not ask about immigration status during routine policing.
Their "Immigrants in Fairfax County" website says the county “does not and will not enforce civil federal immigration laws.”
What’s next: Ortiz remains in custody while the criminal case proceeds. The misdemeanor charges carry a maximum penalty of up to one year in jail.
