Good morning, Wake Up Right fam! President Trump rightfully took aim at our NATO allies yesterday for refusing to lend a hand with the conflict in Iran, calling the group a "one way street” and adding: “We will protect them, but they will do nothing for us."
When I was right out of college an old friend reached out asking to lend him $300. We had lost touch over the years, but we were good friends in high school, so I obliged.
(And $300 was a lot of money for a 22-year-old working near minimum wage!).
Weeks and then months went by and he never paid me back. Every time I called he gave me the run-around. Then I got great advice from someone:
Don’t bother chasing him for it. Consider it a small price to pay to never have him bother you for money again.
Mr. President, consider NATO’s uselessness today a small price to pay to never have to lend them a hand again.

Farmer Bill’s Meat Snacks

Do you like jerky? Then you will love biltong.
Jerky is tough and dry. But biltong has marbling like a ribeye steak and is super tender.
How? It's air-dried, unlike jerky, which is cooked. And the air-drying process gives it 30% more protein per ounce than jerky.
Why I recommend Farmer Bill’s: It’s a rancher-owned company, sourcing beef and bison from the grasslands of South Dakota. Their biltong is:
🐮 Grass-fed, grass-finished
💪 High-protein snack
🇺🇸 100% American beef
🚫 No nitrates
🚫 No sugar
🚫 No processed ingredients
Translation: clean, simple, high-protein meat snacks you’ll actually crave.

Dems make people hurt

The DHS funding fight is starting to sour for Democrats as their own sides the standoff is “making people hurt” – especially as Trump offers new immigration-enforcement concessions to meet them halfway.
Back up: Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding has been expired since Feb. 13 because Democrats are using the procedure to try and limit President Donald Trump’s efforts to enforce immigration laws.
Concessions: The White House says it has already moved – offering broader use of body-cameras, stronger angent-identification rules, and more Congressional oversight.
What else do Democrats want? They have two major unreasonable demands:
Prohibit agents from wearing masks (they wear masks because left-wing groups dox their families and threaten their lives)
Require judicial warrants before conducting raids
Downsteam effects: While Democrats are weaponizing this against immigration enforcement, its hurting critical homeland security tasks as workers go without pay.
TSA absenteeism hit 10% and over 300 officers have quit, causing major delays at airports.
Over 50,000 DHS employees – including those charged with protecting against terrorism – are not being paid.
And it comes as the U.S. has faced multiple Islam-inspired terrorist attacks in recent weeks.
The last word goes to Democrat Rep. Don Beyer who admitted: "It's not forcing any change. In the meantime, we're making people hurt. The long lines, that can't make us more popular."

Fraud exposed in California

An independent investigation is shedding light on a potential scandal involving alleged large-scale fraud in California’s taxpayer-funded health care and child care programs.
The details: Independent journalist Nick Shirley released a video report claiming his team uncovered more than $170 million in suspected fraud tied to government-subsidized programs – particularly in home health care, hospice services, and daycare facilities funded through programs like Medi-Cal.
His investigation: Shirley’s team visited multiple locations listed as receiving public funds.
Some daycares had few or no children, despite full enrollment on paper.
Several hospice and care centers appeared empty during business hours.
Records showed millions in government payments tied to those locations.
The numbers: Shirley highlighted how spending using Medi-Cal (California's version of Medicaid) had doubled since 2022, and there had been a 1,000% increase in hospice care in LA.
Context: Federal officials and watchdogs have previously flagged Los Angeles County as a hotspot for health care fraud, particularly in hospice and home health billing.
California's Medi-Cal spending is projected to hit an all-time high of $49 billion in General Fund and $222 billion in total funds in 2026-2027.
Back up: Shirley gained mainstream notoriety in December when his independent investigation uncovered large-scale fraud in Minnesota’s Somali community.
What is California saying? Governor Gavin Newsom responded on X, mocking Nick Shirley with a meme of a creepy-looking man with the caption, "Hey, can I see your kids?"
The last word goes to Shirley, who responded, saying:
“You do realize I’m trying to help America eliminate fraud and waste, right? No need to try and make me look like the bad guy for exposing fraud. People are over it. Start working for the people and not against them.”
