Breakthrough: Trump and Putin agree to energy infrastructure ceasefire

President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin reached an agreement on an immediate ceasefire for energy and infrastructure in Ukraine — a first major step towards peace.

The details: The agreement came during a nearly three-hour call on Tuesday, resulting in an immediate 30-day ceasefire “on all Energy and Infrastructure,” according to a post by Trump on Truth Social.

• ↔️ Prisoner swap: Russia also agreed to a prisoner swap with Ukraine that will see both sides release 175 captured soldiers. 

Ukraine agrees: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he supported the proposal to stop strikes on energy targets.

Energy and Infrastructure: Since the start of the war, Russia has used drones and missiles to strike Ukrainian energy production. Meanwhile, Ukraine has used drones to target Russian oil production.

Putin comments: Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed gratitude to Trump "for his desire to contribute to the noble goal of ending hostilities and loss of life.”

What next? The U.S. and Russia will begin working on ‘Phase 2’ of negotiations in Saudi Arabia on Sunday, which will focus on a cease-fire in the Black Sea. 

The last word goes to Trump, who said on Truth Social that “hopefully” all sides “for the sake of Humanity, get the job done!”

Mission complete: SpaceX rescues NASA astronauts stranded by Biden

Two NASA astronauts finally returned to Earth after being stranded on the International Space Station (ISS) for more than nine months by the Biden regime — a mission originally planned for just one week.

The details: Barry "Butch" Wilmore and Suni Williams safely splashed down in the Gulf of America off Tallahassee, Florida, aboard a SpaceX Dragon capsule Tuesday evening. The pair smiled and waved as they emerged from the capsule. Here’s how they got there:

• Early Sunday, a four-person crew aboard a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft flew to the ISS.

• Barry and Suni — along with commander Nick Hague and Russian cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov — then hopped a ride on the Dragon craft back to Earth.

• Upon their arrival, SpaceX Mission Control radioed: "On behalf of SpaceX, welcome home."

Back up: Their unexpected extended stay aboard the ISS began in June when their Boeing Starliner suffered technical issues and, for safety reasons, returned home without them.

Dirty politics: Earlier this month, SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk claimed: “SpaceX could have sent up another Dragon and brought them home 6 months ago, but the Biden White House (not NASA) refused to allow it.”

Trump calls on Musk: In January, shortly after returning to the White House, President Trump asked Elon Musk to retrieve the stranded NASA astronauts. He wrote on Truth Social at the time:

• “I have just asked Elon Musk and @SpaceX to ‘go get’ the 2 brave astronauts who have been virtually abandoned in space by the Biden Administration… Elon will soon be on his way. Hopefully, all will be safe. Good luck Elon!!!”
