Airports get ICE-y
President Donald Trump threatened to deploy Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to U.S. airports – and potentially arrest illegal immigrants – as Democrats continue to refuse to fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
The details: Border Czar Tom Homan confirmed on Sunday that ICE agents will be at airports starting today to help Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents carry out their duties, as staff absences soared over the weekend, while agents go without pay. Trump announced the move on Truth Social, writing:
“The Radical Left Democrats have hurt so many people with their vicious and uncaring ways... If the Democrats do not allow for Just and Proper Security at our Airports, and elsewhere throughout our Country, ICE will do the job far better than ever done before!"
Back up: DHS has been partially shut down since February 14, as Democrats use the funding bill as leverage to push Republicans to scale back ICE operations.
The shutdown has forced TSA agents to work without pay, fueling hundreds of resignations and staff shortages. The shortages have led to long wait times at U.S. airports.
What will ICE be doing? Agents will not replace screeners, but could take on perimeter security and enforcement roles.
Airport deportations? Homan confirmed ICE agents will also be conducting immigration enforcement at the airports.

Real talk from G: Democrats argue that they have offered to fund TSA separately, but they’re playing politics. The TSA chaos is bad for them. But you can’t set one room on fire and then take credit for handing out a single bucket of water.

Another American girl killed by illegal alien
A Venezuelan national who entered the U.S. illegally and was later released by the Biden regime has been charged with killing a Loyola University Chicago freshman – the latest, tragic example of what four years of lawless, open borders have brought to the United States.
The details: Authorities say 25-year-old Jose Medina-Medina shot 18-year-old Sheridan Gorman early Thursday morning near Chicago’s lakefront.
Gormon was walking with friends to see the Northern Lights when Medina approached, wearing dark clothing and a mask.
Medina then fired a single shot as she tried to flee.
Gormon died after being transported to a nearby hospital.
Catching the killer: Authorities identified Medina through surveillance footage and a distinct limp, according to reports.
Back up: Medina entered the U.S. illegally in May 2023 and was released by the Biden regime. He was later arrested for shoplifting in Chicago but failed to appear in court. A warrant was issued, but he remained at large at the time of the shooting.
Zoom out: The case adds to a string of high-profile crimes against young American girls.
In 2024, Laken Riley, a Georgia nursing student, was killed by a Venezuelan national who had entered the U.S. illegally and been released.
Other examples include the killings of Rachel Morin (a mother who was brutally raped and murdered by an illegal from El Salvador) and Jocelyn Nungaray (a 12-year-old, killed by Venezuelan illegals).
Chicago leaders have blood on their hands: Chicago is a “Sanctuary City” – creating a favorable environment for thugs like Media to roam freely. ICE has lodged a detainer request for Media, but the city is not expected to honor it.
The last word goes to DHS Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis, who said: “[Sheridan Gorman] was failed by open border policies and sanctuary politicians who released this illegal alien twice before he went on to commit this heinous murder."
