The Trump administration just did what no White House has done before: dumped the government's UFO files online and told the public to make up their own minds.
The details: On Friday, the Department of War released the first tranche of declassified files on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) – over 160 documents, photos, videos, and FBI case files now hosted publicly at war.gov/UFO. Some of the highlights include:
🌒 Buzz Aldrin reported a "fairly bright light source" and "possible laser" while in lunar orbit during Apollo 11
🌓 Apollo 17 crew reported seeing three sparkling lights in the sky while on the Moon.
🌠 A 2013 CENTCOM video shows an "eight-pointed star with arms of alternating length" hovering in the sky
✈️ Tajik pilots over Kazakhstan in 1994 watched an object make corkscrews, and 90-degree turns at high G-forces
📁 FBI eyewitness reports describe a "bronze metallic object materializing out of a bright light."
The weird file: A 1967 FBI memo to J. Edgar Hoover describes a "cobalt ray" that could allegedly enclose a person's nervous system, manipulate their heartbeat, and produce "visions of flying objects." The sender claimed the operators had "infiltrated almost every business level."
Why it matters: For decades, the government mocked or buried UFO inquiries. Trump just flipped the script. And more files are expected to be released on a rolling basis.

Iran war just gave Trump an economic gut check
Inflation surged to 3.8% in April, the highest level in nearly three years. It comes as the Iran war's oil shock spilled across the U.S. economy, hammering Americans at the pump and the grocery store.
The details: The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that consumer prices rose 0.6% month-over-month, with energy alone accounting for over 40% of the increase. Here are some of the year-over-year numbers:

To be fair, there are positives in the economy that are being overshadowed.
