Good morning, folks! In the past 24 hours, President Trump secured over $600 billion in investment from Saudi Arabiaโ€”and inflation dropped to 2.3%, the lowest in four years.

So what did the media focus on? Trump accepting a temporary plane from Qatar while Air Force One is replaced.

Fake news gonna fake news. Luckily, most Americans stopped listening a long time ago.

Inflation hits 4-year low

Inflation cooled in April to its lowest level in over four years โ€” bucking predictions that tariffs would lead to rising costs.

The details: The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose just 0.2% in April, putting the annualized rate at 2.3% โ€” lower than economists expected. Here are the items that saw the largest price drops compared to one year ago:

  • โ›ฝ๏ธ Gasoline: -11.8%

  • ๐Ÿ‘— Clothing: -0.7%

  • โœˆ๏ธ Airline fares: -7.9%

  • ๐ŸšŒ Public transportation: -5.6%

  • ๐Ÿฅš Eggs: -10.5% [compared to March]

  • ๐ŸŠ Fruit & Vegetables: -0.9%

  • ๐Ÿ”Œ Appliances: -1.2%

  • ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ Shoes: -1.3%

  • ๐Ÿ“ฑ Smartphones: -14%

Back up: The last time inflation was this low was February 2021.

The sky didnโ€™t fall, Jerome: Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell chose not to lower interest rates [which President Trump has been lobbying for], citing tariffs and their potential to cause inflation.

Trump weighs in: While visiting the Middle East, President Trump weighed in on the positive tariff news on Truth Social, writing:

  • โ€œNo Inflation, and Prices of Gasoline, Energy, Groceries, and practically everything else, are DOWN!!! THE FED must lower the RATE, like Europe and China have done. What is wrong with Too Late Powell? Not fair to America, which is ready to blossom? Just let it all happen, it will be a beautiful thing!โ€

The Don makes a deal in the desert

President Donald Trump kicked off the first leg of the first international trip of his second term, touching down in Saudi Arabia yesterday, where he was treated to a royal welcome by the Kingdom.

Royal welcome: As Air Force One approached King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, it was welcomed by an escort of six Saudi F-15 fighter jets. When it touched down, President Trump was greeted on the tarmac by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MbS).

The details: Shortly after arrival, Trump got down to business, securing $600 billion in investment agreements across energy, defense, tech, infrastructure, and manufacturing. Itโ€™s the largest single foreign investment pledge ever made to the U.S.

  • Energy + Jobs: A large portion of the deal centers on boosting U.S. liquified natural gas exports and building refineries, pipelines, and advanced facilities โ€” with thousands of American jobs expected.

  • Tech & AI: DataVolt pledged $20B for U.S.-based data center and AI projects. U.S. firms like Oracle and Microsoft will jointly develop cloud infrastructure in Saudi Arabia.

  • Defense relationship: Trump touted the deal as a step toward regional peace and security, with significant cooperation in aerospace and missile defense systems.

The entourage: U.S. business leaders were also along for the trip, including SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, OpenAI's Sam Altman, and Nvidia's Jensen Huang.

Syria's big moment: President Trump announced that he would cease sanctions against Syria โ€œto give them a chance at greatness."

Big picture: The first stop on the America First road trip did not disappoint โ€” reviving alliances, bringing investment home, and projecting U.S. strength abroad.

Next stop: Trump is in Qatar today.

About two months ago, I was at a butcher in my neighborhood and saw a diagram of a cow, with all the cuts of meat labeled. And that gave me an idea for a t-shirt:

DOGE Butcher Shop โ€” but instead of the cow, we use a pig. And the cuts of meat in the diagram represent all the waste, fraud, and abuse being butchered by the Trump admin.

Over the last few weeks, I worked with a really talented graphic designer who brought it to life. And on Friday I got a sample in the mail and Iโ€™m happy to say, it came out better than Iโ€™d hoped.

Also, my wife told me I had to mention that the t-shirt itโ€™s printed on is Comfort Colors. Apparently, theyโ€™re well-known for high-quality materials. I just chose them because they are printed in the U.S. and made with 100 U.S. cotton.
