FBI foils ISIS plot

A former Michigan Army National Guard member was arrested Tuesday for plotting a mass shooting at a U.S. military base on behalf of ISIS.

The details: Ammar Abdulmajid-Mohamed Said, 19, allegedly planned a deadly attack on the U.S. Army’s Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command (TACOM) facility in Warren, MI — conducting drone surveillance, acquiring ammo, and training would-be attackers.

• In June 2024, Said started communicating with an undercover FBI agent whom he believed was a fellow ISIS supporter.

• In April, “Said provided material assistance to the attack plan, including providing armor-piercing ammunition and magazines for the attack, flying his drone over TACOM to conduct operational reconnaissance, training the undercover employees on firearms and the construction of Molotov cocktails for use during the attack, and planning numerous details of the attack including how to enter TACOM and which building to target."

Back up: Said previously served in the Michigan Army National Guard and was discharged in late 2024.

FBI Director Kash Patel said: "Let this be a warning: Anyone who targets our military or conspires with foreign terrorist organizations will be found, stopped and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."

The charges: Said will be charged with attempting to provide support to a foreign terrorist group and distributing info related to a destructive device. He faces up to 20 years per charge.

Former FBI Director pleads stupidity after calling for violence against Trump’s

The FBI and Secret Service are investigating a now-deleted post by former FBI Director James Comey that critics say implied violence against President Trump.

The details: On Thursday, Comey shared a photo on Instagram of beach shells spelling out “86 47” with the caption "Cool shell formation on my beach walk.”

• 86: slang for elimination or removal

• 47: Trump is the 47th president

Back up: In 2024, there were two assassination attempts on Trump — one of which resulted in him being shot and the death of an attendee at his rally.

Investigations taking place: Both FBI Director Kash Patel and DHS Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed federal authorities are looking into the former Director’s veiled threat.

• Noem wrote on X: “DHS and Secret Service is investigating this threat and will respond appropriately.”

• Patel wrote on X: “Primary jurisdiction is with SS on these matters and we, the FBI, will provide all necessary support.”

Comey pleads stupidity: Shortly after posting the image, Comey deleted it and posted a new message that read:

• "I posted earlier a picture of some shells I saw today on a beach walk, which I assumed were a political message. I didn't realize some folks associate those numbers with violence. It never occurred to me but I oppose violence of any kind so I took the post down."

• Comey also disabled comments on his Instagram page.

The last word goes to President Trump, who responded to the post during a Fox News interview, where he said:

• "He knew exactly what that meant. A child knows what that meant ... That meant 'assassination.'"
