Trump ousts longtime GOP foe, Thomas Massie
President Donald Trump got the last word in Kentucky’s 4th District primary last night – ending the 13-year career of Rep. Thomas Massie, one of his most persistent Republican critics.
The details: Trump’s hand-picked challenger, Ed Gallrein, a former Navy SEAL handpicked by Trump, beat Massie by nearly 10 points, with the Associated Press calling the race before most Americans had cleared off their dinner tables.
📊 The final vote tally was: Gallrein 57,822 (55%), Massie 47,539 (45%)
💰 Big bucks: This was the most expensive House primary in U.S. history, with $32.6 million in ad spending.
💬 In his victory speech, Gallrein said: "Now my focus is on advancing the president's and the party's agenda to put America first and Kentucky always."
The feud: Massie and Trump endorsed each other in 2024 – then went to war almost immediately after. Massie voted against Trump's signature “Big Beautiful” tax bill, has vocally opposed the Iran war, and pushed to release the Epstein files.
Trump kept his word: When Massie tanked a short-term funding bill in March 2025, Trump posted: "HE SHOULD BE PRIMARIED, and I will lead the charge against him."
Trump's primary purge: Massie is the latest casualty in Trump's 2026 campaign to flush GOP dissenters from the party.

Forget chandeliers and crown molding. President Donald Trump's new White House ballroom is a 90,000-square-foot military-grade fortress with a drone base on the roof and a six-story bunker underneath.
The details: Trump took reporters on an impromptu tour of the construction site on Tuesday and revealed previously undisclosed security features that dwarf anything the 18th-century White House currently offers.
🚁 The roof is built from "impenetrable steel" and engineered as a "drone port" capable of deploying an unlimited number of defensive drones.
⛓ Titanium fencing surrounds the complex, and Trump says, "A bulldozer cannot knock it over."

🏗 Building the ballroom: The $400 million construction tab is being covered by President Trump and other private donors, including Amazon, Google, Meta, and Microsoft.
😎 Security: Republicans are looking to secure $1 billion in funding for White House security to harden the White House against threats. Of that, $220 million would go towards ballroom security.
Is it really a vanity project? Critics say this is Trump wasting taxpayer money on himself. But as he points out: "When this is finished [in 2028], my term ends shortly after that. This is really for other presidents. This is not for me. This is my gift to the United States of America."
Real Talk from G: This fiasco about the ballroom is manufactured outrage.
