Zoom out: Despite outspending other developed nations by more than double per capita on healthcare, the U.S. ranks last in life expectancy.

• 🧩 Autism impacts 1 in 31 children today compared to 1 in 10,000 in the 1980s.

Taking action: The report outlines 10 federal research initiatives, including real-world drug safety trials (not lab tests), chemical audits, and AI-powered tech to monitor health. A policy report will be due in 100 days.

House passes Trump’s ‘big, beautiful bill’

House Republicans delivered a narrow but critical win for President Donald Trump, passing his sweeping tax and spending plan dubbed the “One Big Beautiful Bill.”

The details: The House voted 215 to 214 to pass the 1,000+ page bill, which locks in core Trump 2024 campaign pledges — tax cuts, border wall funding, energy revival, Medicaid reform.

• Two Republicans defected: Thomas Massie and Warren Davidson

• Every Democrat voted against the bill.

• Freedom Caucus Chair Andy Harris voted 'present'

What the left is saying: Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said, "This is not one big, beautiful bill. It’s ugly."

What Republicans are saying: Speaker Mike Johnson took a much-deserved victory lap, after [with a lot of help from President Trump] bringing the different factions of the GOP together, saying: "It's finally morning in America again.”

About two months ago, I was at a butcher in my neighborhood and saw a diagram of a cow, with all the cuts of meat labeled. And that gave me an idea for a t-shirt:
