Cali trans athletes get dose of Truth

President Donald Trump is turning up the heat on California for its refusal to follow federal policies on transgender athletes — ignited by a biological male qualifying for the state championship in women’s track.

The details: President Trump called out "Radical Left Democrat Gavin Newscum" on Truth Social yesterday for continuing to "ILLEGALLY allow 'MEN TO PLAY IN WOMEN'S SPORTS.'"

The catalyst: Trump‘s post references AB Hernandez, a biological male who competes against women in track and field in California. This past weekend, Hernandez placed first in the women’s triple jump and long jump competitions. Trump said:

• “As a Male, he was a less than average competitor. As a Female, this transitioned person is practically unbeatable. THIS IS NOT FAIR, AND TOTALLY DEMEANING TO WOMEN AND GIRLS.”

Back up: In February, Trump signed an executive order titled “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports” which bans trans athletes from competing against females.

The threat: Trump threatened to pull federal funding from California. For perspective, California schools are estimated to receive $8 billion in federal funding this year.

Newsom’s own words: In March, California Gov. Gavin Newsom told Charlie Kirk that allowing trans men to compete against women was “deeply unfair.” However, his actions have not backed up his words.

What do the athletes think? Katie McGuinness, who placed second behind AB, told Fox News: “Winning [the state tournament] has always been a goal of mine. And I just want able to compete with someone who is genetically different than me.”

• AB Hernandez says it’s “idiotic” claim that he has an unfair advantage.

Not good enough: After Trump’s threat, the California Interscholastic Federation announced a last-minute eligibility change allowing the biological girls who missed the state tournament due to a transgender athlete taking their spot to qualify.

Big picture: A recent AP poll found that roughly 70% of Americans think transgender athletes should not be allowed to compete against women. This is a losing issue for Democrats and I hope they continue to chase it.

President Donald Trump's proposed "Golden Dome" advanced missile defense initiative is drawing major squeals from U.S. adversaries like China, Russia, and North Korea.

Back up: The Golden Dome is a space-based defense system that aims to detect and intercept global missile attacks using advanced satellite technologies

What they’re saying: Since its announcement, China, North Korea, and Russia have been quick to express their opposition:

• China claimed it was “seriously concerned” over the Golden Dome and says it would create “a space arms race.”

• Russia criticized the initiative as destabilizing and claimed it would lead to the erosion of strategic stability.

• North Korea denounced the plan as an "attempt to militarize outer space" and "preemptively attain military superiority in an all-round way."

Real talk from G: If America's chief adversaries are throwing a fit over the Golden Dome, it suggests to this newsletter guy that it's a great move for America.

A few months ago, I was at a butcher in my neighborhood and saw a diagram of a cow, with all the cuts of meat labeled. And that gave me an idea for a t-shirt:

DOGE Butcher Shop — but instead of the cow, we use a pig. And the cuts of meat in the diagram represent all the waste, fraud, and abuse being butchered by the Trump admin.

Over the last few weeks, I worked with a really talented graphic designer who brought it to life. And on Friday I got a sample in the mail and I’m happy to say, it came out better than I’d hoped.
