Good morning, Wake Up Right fam! How about a fun history fact?

On this day in 1754, the first blood of the French and Indian War was spilled in southwestern Pennsylvania. A Virginia militia killed 10 French soldiers, including the commander, Coulon de Jumonville.

That Virginia militia was under the authority of a 22-year-old Lieutenant Colonel named... George Washington. 🇺🇸

The left loses it over Jaxson Dart introducing Trump

Giants QB Jaxson Dart politely introduced President Donald Trump at a New York rally – and the sports media class melted down while a who's who of NFL legends rushed to back him up.

The details: Dart introduced Trump at a "Fighting For American Workers" event in Suffern, New York last weekend, calling it "an honor" and "a privilege" to introduce the 45th and 47th president. He didn't endorse policy. He didn't campaign. He said Trumps’ name into a microphone. This set off a firestorm.

A who’s who of left-wing losers took to the airwaves to try and cancel the young QB:

  • 🤡 Joy Behar (The View): "For somebody to back a guy like Trump… when [Dart's] on a team that's 55%-60% of the NFL, that much percentage of black people – that is just the definition of stupidity and racist in my opinion." She added that Dart "needs a little extra padding" – implying Black players might target him on the field.

  • 🤡 Dan Le Batard (ultra-woke former ESPN host) said: "He deserves to be made uncomfortable if he's going to support this particular presidency during a deeply uncomfortable time."

  • 🤡 Abdul Carter (Jaxson's teammate) posted on social media: "Thought this s—t was AI, what we doing man," before saying he spoke to his QB and they cleared the air.

  • 🤡 Jemele Hill (ultra-woke former ESPN host) said: "This was an unforced error by Jaxson Dart. Donald Trump is historically unpopular. You are the quarterback of the New York Giants. What was the point?" She also defended Carter, citing his identity as Black and Muslim as justification for publicly attacking a teammate.

The cavalry arrives: Former NFL legends stepped in to defend the young QB.

  • 🏈 Brett Favre (Hall of Fame QB) co-signed a tweet reading "In a world of Megan Rapinoes, be a Jaxson Dart" with one word: "Agreed."

  • 🏈 Boomer Esiason (MVP QB and Radio host) said: "This was a real error on the part of Abdul Carter, not on the part of Jaxson Dart. Jaxson Dart was asked to introduce the President of the United States. How many people get an opportunity to do something like that, regardless of who the president is?"

  • 🏈 Tiki Barber (Giants all-time rushing leader): Told people offended by the decision to “Get over it.”

Zoom out: The same people complaining today yawned when NBA players hugged Barack Obama at All-Star Weekend. The rule is simple: Democrat support is principled. Republican support is a moral failing requiring "consequences."

The last word goes to OutKick’s Clay Travis, who summed it up perfectly: "Dart introduced Trump on his own time. He didn't campaign for him, endorse him, or advocate for any policy position. The introduction was not partisan. It was patriotic.

Space Race 2.0 heats up

NASA unveiled three new Moon missions that are planned to launch by the end of 2026 – all part of a sprint to build a permanent American outpost called "Moon Base" before China can stake its own claim.

The details: NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman laid out the plan this week at NASA headquarters. Each of the three missions will use a commercial lander to drop cargo, science gear, and rovers near the lunar south pole — the same region where astronauts will eventually land.

  • 🌒 Moon Base I: Launches no earlier than fall 2026. Blue Origin's lander will drop science gear near the Moon's south pole to scout future landing sites.

  • 🌓 Moon Base II: Launches later this year. Astrobotic's lander will deliver over 1,100 pounds of cargo, including a rover to test how vehicles handle the lunar surface.

  • 🌔 Moon Base III: Intuitive Machines' Nova-C Trinity lander will carry NASA's science payload – plus instruments from European and Korean partners – to study mysterious bright swirls on the Moon's surface.

Quote: SpaceX CEO Elon Musk responded to the news on X, writing: "This will be awesome!!"

The numbers: NASA also rolled out the contracts to make it all real.

  • Astrolab and Lunar Outpost won $219 million and $220 million, respectively, to build the first crewed lunar rovers, due by 2028.

  • Blue Origin landed a $188 million contract – with an option period worth $280.4 million – to deliver those rovers to the surface.

The scope: Phase 1 of Moon Base alone calls for 25 launches, 21 landings, and roughly four metric tons of cargo delivered to the Moon.

Backup: President Donald Trump signed his "Ensuring American Space Superiority" executive order in December, directing NASA to land astronauts by 2028 and build a permanent lunar outpost by 2030.

Geopolitics: This push comes as China openly targets its own crewed Moon landing by 2030. Whoever gets there first sets the rules for resource extraction, base placement, and the south pole's prized water-ice reserves.

The last word goes to President Trump, who in his 2025 executive order said: "We will lead humanity back to the moon, and the United States will be the first nation to land an astronaut on Mars."
