Good morning, folks! Today, we honor the men and women who have worn our nation’s uniform – real people who put their lives on pause at home and put their lives on the line around the world so the rest of us could live freely.

President Trump put it best a few years back: “These Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen selflessly placed lives, well‑being, and security of others before their own. We enjoy the privileges of peace, prosperity, and freedom because of our veterans, and we are forever indebted to them beyond measure.”

This quote was pre-Space Force. So, Guardians, know you’re also appreciated.

Olympics set to ban trans athletes

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is preparing to ban biological males from women’s sports – a giant shift that follows mounting scientific evidence that male-sex athletes retain advantages even after hormone suppression.

Glossary: The IOC uses the term “differences of sex development” or DSD – which is essentially a politically correct term for transgenders.

The details: The IOC is finalizing a new policy that would prohibit transgender women and many DSD athletes from competing in female categories, multiple outlets report.

  • The move ends the current patchwork system where each sport sets its own rules.

What changed? According to the reports, a scientific review presented last week by IOC medical director Dr. Jane Thornton outlined clear, retained physical advantages for male-sex athletes, even after testosterone reduction.

  • The presentations were reportedly "factual," "unemotional," and received overwhelming support from IOC members.

What they’re saying: IOC President Kirsty Coventry has repeatedly said protecting the women’s category is “essential for fairness.”

Zoom out: The change comes amid global scrutiny after Algeria’s Imane Khelif and Taiwan’s Lin Yu-Ting won Olympic boxing gold following earlier gender-test controversies.

What comes next? The formal announcement is expected at the February IOC Session, ahead of the Milan-Cortina Olympics; implementation is anticipated to take 6–12 months.

RFK Jr. scraps menopause junk science

The FDA is removing long-standing “black box” warnings from menopause treatment, reversing two decades of guidance based on flawed science that left millions of women afraid to seek treatment.

What are Black Box Warnings? They’re the FDA’s strongest safety alerts, highlighting serious or life-threatening drug risks.

The details: The agency will strip the highest-level warnings from more than 20 hormone replacement therapy (HRT) products after a fresh review concluded the risks of breast cancer, heart disease, and dementia had been overstated for women in their 40s and 50s.

  • HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said the labels “warned of diseases and dangers that the data simply did not support. Bureaucrats at the FDA reacted out of fear, not gold standard science. And instead of correcting the record, the medical establishment doubled down in groupthink. The consequences have been devastating."

Back up: The concerns over HRT were first fueled by a 2002 study known as the "Women's Health Initiative," which claimed there was a link between hormone therapy and breast cancer.

  • FDA Commissioner Marty Makary said the study was “misrepresented and weaponized,” fueling a “fear machine” that deprived patients of effective care.

Why is HRT used for menopause? According to Makary, it “alleviates the short-term symptoms of menopause, including hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings and weight gain."

Other benefits of HRT: Makary pointed to decades of research showing HRT reduced coronary events by 50%, lowered Alzheimer's risk by 35%, and bone fractures by up to 60% when started within ten years of menopause.

It’s worth noting: The warning will remain on estrogen-alone therapies that pose a risk for endometrial cancer.

The last word goes back to Secretary Kennedy, who said:

  • "For more than two decades, the American medical establishment turned its back on women. Millions of women were told to fear the very therapy that could have given them strength, peace, and dignity through one of life's most difficult transitions — menopause. That ends today."
