Big Tish James gets indicted

New York Attorney General Letitia James has been indicted by a Virginia grand jury on charges of bank fraud and making false statements to a financial institution, the DOJ announced.

The details: U.S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan said the alleged acts represent “intentional, criminal acts and tremendous breaches of the public’s trust.” If convicted, James faces up to 30 years in prison and $1 million per count.

• The case grew out of a criminal referral by Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte, accusing Tish of falsifying mortgage applications to gain favorable loan terms.

What the left is saying: NY Gov. Kathy Hochul said the indictment was a politicized attack: “the weaponization of the Justice Department to punish those who hold the powerful accountable.”

Back up: James led one of the high-profile witch hunts against Trump, going after him for allegedly inflating the value of properties like Trump Tower and Mar-a-Lago in order to secure better loans.

…how ironic. James was indicted for lying to secure favorable bank loans – the very thing she went after Trump for.

Zoom out: This indictment follows last week’s indictment of former FBI Director James Comey for obstruction and lying to Congress.

Antifa leaders flee the U.S.

Several top Antifa figures have fled the country as President Donald Trump’s Justice Department moves to dismantle the group’s domestic terror networks following its official designation as a terrorist organization.

The details: Mark Bray, a Rutgers professor known as “Dr. Antifa,” has fled to Spain, citing safety concerns.

• Bray openly supports militant action and reportedly funneled proceeds from his book – Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook –to Antifa International, the group’s global funding arm.

• Before leaving, Bray called for “mass antifascism, legal or not.”

• Rutgers University will allow him to continue teaching remotely.

Who else? Founders of Rose City Antifa, based in Portland, have reportedly fled to Sweden. The group has been linked to assaults on federal officers and doxxing of ICE agents.

Back up: Last month, President Donald Trump signed an executive order designating Antifa as a terrorist organization, citing its violent tactics and stated goal of overthrowing the U.S. government.

Zoom out: Charlie Kirk’s assassin referenced Antifa slogans, engraving “Hey, Fascist! Catch” and “Bella Ciao” on the bullets – both identified as slogans connected to the domestic terrorists.

Operational issues: Antifa International announced it’s shutting down U.S.-based donation portals and relocating operations abroad after Trump’s directive.
