Bolton indicted

John Bolton was indicted on 18 felony counts for mishandling and transmitting highly classified U.S. defense intelligence – a “life comes at you fast” moment for Trump’s former administration National Security Advisor, who spent the last few years trashing the president on cable news.

The details: Federal prosecutors in Maryland charged Bolton with eight counts of transmission and ten counts of unlawful retention of national defense information.

• Between 2018 and 2025, Bolton used personal email and messaging apps to share top-secret material – including intelligence on adversaries’ attack plans, covert operations, and allied defense strategies.

• His accounts were later reportedly hacked by a foreign entity tied to Iran.

• Bolton kept more than 1,000 pages of diaries containing classified notes at his Maryland home and shared them with two unauthorized individuals.

Back up: On August 22, FBO agents raided Bolton's Maryland and D.C. homes, seizing phones, laptops, and folders labeled “Trump I–IV.” Recovered files included documents referencing weapons of mass destruction and allied military coordination.

Zoom out: This investigation stemmed from Bolton's 2020 memoir, which made it clear he had retained classified materials; however, the Biden regime dropped the case. It was picked back up under Attorney General Pam Bondi after it was discovered that Bolton's files had been hacked by the Iranians.

The law: Each count of unlawful retention or transmission of national defense information carries a maximum 10-year prison sentence.

Big picture: This follows the high-profile indictments of former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia “Big Tish” James.

Trump reshapes IVF policy

President Donald Trump announced a groundbreaking plan to slash the cost of fertility treatments – one of the most expansive pro-family policy rollouts of his second term.

The details: Speaking at the White House on Thursday, Trump outlined multiple actions his administration was taking to make expensive in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments more accessible for all American families.

• Pharmaceutical giant EMD Serono will “massively discount” its fertility drugs – including a widely used drug called Gonal-F – following “extensive negotiations” with the Trump administration.

• The discounts will be available through TrumpRx.gov and will cut IVF drug costs by up to 73% per treatment cycle.

• Made in America: EMD Serono also agreed to manufacture IVF medications in the U.S. for the first time.

• Most favored nation: The company also agreed to peg all future drug prices to Trump’s “most-favored-nation” pricing model — meaning Americans pay no more than citizens in other developed nations.

• Fast-track: The FDA will expedite approval of Pergoveris, a lower-cost European fertility drug, in order to bring more competition to the U.S. market.

• Health policy shift: Under new Health and Human Services and Department of Labor rules, companies can now offer stand-alone fertility insurance plans – similar to dental or vision benefits. Trump is encouraging employers to adopt the new coverage immediately.

Zoom out: IVF costs can exceed $20,000 per cycle, and some couples require multiple cycles to conceive – putting it out of reach for millions.

The numbers: Under these new policies, women could save $2,200 per IVF cycle, according to estimates from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

• Low- and middle-income families will qualify for deeper discounts of more than 2,000% off the current list price.

Back up: During the 2024 presidential campaign, Trump pledged to expand access to fertility treatments.

The other side: Some pro-life conservatives oppose IVF. Kristian Hawkins, president of Students for Life, expressed “disappointment” on X, calling IVF “destructive” because sometimes embryos that are created do not get used.

The last word goes to Trump, who said: "There’s no deeper happiness and joy of raising children, and now millions of Americans struggling with infertility will have a new chance to share the greatest experience of them all."
