Trump takes out the trash

Donald Trump arrived in Green Bay, Wisconsin, in a garbage truck yesterday — one day after Joe Biden called his 74 million supporters "garbage" during a campaign call.

The detail: Wearing an orange safety vest, inside a Trump-branded garbage truck, the GOP nominee asked the press: “How do you like my garbage truck?”

Back up: Joe Biden, during a campaign Zoom call on Tuesday, said: “The only garbage I see floating out there is [Trump’s] supporters.”

Trash talk: While sitting in the passenger seat of the giant sanitation vehicle, Trump took questions from the press:

• On Biden calling his supporters 'garbage': "Joe Biden should be ashamed of himself; if he knows what he's even doing... [Kamala] should never have let that happen."

• Puerto Rico controversy: "I love Puerto Rico... [Puerto Ricans] love me, and I love them... I don't know anything about the comedian... But it was just a statement that he made. He's a comedian. What can I tell you."

• Will Steve Bannon campaign with Trump: "I don't know, but I think he's a terrific guy. I think he was treated unfairly."

• Before driving off, Trump told the press, “I hope you enjoyed this garbage truck. Thank you very much.” Which I thought was hilarious.

Brett Favre: Later on, Trump was joined on stage at his rally by former Green Bay Packers star Brett Favre, who responded to Biden’s comment, saying:

• "I can assure you we’re not garbage. How dare he say that? I see police officers, teachers, nurses, grandparents, students. I see everyday Americans that make this country great.”

Big picture: During his rally speech, Trump told a funny story about how he ended up riding a garbage truck, which is linked in the ‘Clickable’ section below. But he capped the story by saying, “So we had a little fun about a very serious subject,” and that sort of summarizes the brilliance of this very viral political stunt.

What’s happening in Pennsylvania?

This week, Pennsylvania has been plagued by voting — irregularities — that have raised questions about election integrity.

Trump wrote on Truth Social yesterday: “Pennsylvania is cheating, and getting caught, at large scale levels rarely seen before. REPORT CHEATING TO AUTHORITIES. Law Enforcement must act, NOW!”

Let’s discuss….

Shady business in Lancaster County: Election officials in the county found roughly 2,500 voter registration applications that were suspected of being fraudulent. District Attorney Heather Adams said, "Numerous applications appeared to have the same handwriting (and) were filled out on the same day” and had unverifiable addresses.

• In 2020, Lancaster voted 57.2 for Trump and 41.3% for Biden.

Curious activity in York County: 3,000 voter registration forms were flagged in the county for potential fraud. Roughly 50% of those forms have been thrown out for being either incomplete or duplicate requests. 47% were verified as legitimate.

• In 2020, 61.5% voted for Donald Trump, 36.9% went for Biden.

On the other hand: A Pennsylvania judge sided with Donald Trump yesterday and agreed to extend in-person voting until Friday in the Philadelphia suburb of Bucks County after long lines on Tuesday [the final day] led to many voters being turned away from the polls.

• The judge agreed with Trump's assertion that his voters were disenfranchised.

• Bucks County, which voted for Biden in 2020, is seen as a bellwether

Big picture: Pennsylvania’s Democrat Gov. Josh Shapiro, who was on the short-list to be Kamala’s VP, has not posted on X about any of these major reports. You would think, at the very least, the Mayor would try to make voters aware of the extended early voting deadline. I don’t trust this guy… Keep your eyes peeled, Pennsylvanians.

A message for New Jersey voters

A few weeks ago, as I got to the train for my morning commute to work, I met Mary Jo Guinchard - who’s running for Congress in New Jersey’s 5th district. She was up early, shaking hands and doing the work to meet voters and discuss the issues, which I thought was very cool.
