Donald Trump is returning to Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday to finish the July speech that was cut short by a would-be assassin who shot the former president.

Back up: During a rally in Butler on July 13, Trump narrowly escaped death when a shooter perched on a nearby roof shot at him. Miraculously, Trump turned his head and was only hit in the ear. One man was tragically struck and killed by the assassin's bullet as he used his body to shield his family. A Secret Service sniper killed the shooter.

The details: The Trump campaign released a statement saying, "President Trump’s return to Butler will stand as a tribute to the American spirit. In America, we do not let monsters like that evil assassin have the last word.”

Elon Musk will join: On X, Elon Musk responded to the news of Trump's return to Butler, writing: "I will be there to support!"

Trump says Biden-Harris not helping: On Wednesday, Trump told NewsNation he is "always worried" about safety at his rallies, adding “I think that the White House isn’t treating us very good.”

• He added: "I have a lot of respect for Secret Service. I think they're doing a good job. But they're only allowed to do what the White House is letting them do."

The size and safety: The Secret Service expects up to 60,000 people to attend Trump's second rally in Butler. Hundreds of Secret Service agents and state and local law enforcement will be at the event, along with drones and snipers.

The politics: A month ago, polls showed Kamala Harris leading in Pennsylvania, but Trump has closed the gap, and the average now has them at a 48.2% to 48.2% tie.

On his return to Butler: Trump told NewsNation: "I'm going back to Butler because I feel we have an obligation to go back to Butler. We never finished what we were supposed to do. [And I said] that day, when I was shot, I said, 'We're coming back.'"

Internal watchdog finds Biden-Harris ‘did not fully assess the risks’ of their border policies

The Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Inspector General issued a scathing report, saying the Biden-Harris regime “did not fully assess risks” of releasing illegal aliens without identification and allowing them to board domestic flights.

The details: The report points the blame at several DHS agencies — including CBP, ICE, and TSA — for failing to assess risks tied to these practices. The Inspector General flagged several dangerous flaws:

• 🚩 Illegals were allowed to fly without proper ID, bypassing standard TSA protocols.

• 🚩 The TSA relied on a self-certified identity process, raising security concerns.

• 🚩 CBP and ICE were unable to provide data on how many illegals without ID were released between 2021-2023.

Zoom out: Since Biden and Kamala took office, at least 382 individuals on the terror watchlist have crossed our southern border, with 100 in 2024 alone.

TLDR: The Inspector General’s report said, “CBP and ICE cannot ensure they are keeping high-risk noncitizens without identification from entering the country. Additionally, TSA cannot ensure its vetting and screening procedures prevent high-risk noncitizens who may pose a threat to the flying public from boarding domestic flights.”

CBP One App redacted: Oddly, the portion of the report dedicated to risks associated with the CBP One app was redacted.

• CBP One is the Biden-Harris concoction [never approved by Congress] that allows foreigners to become 'asylum seekers' over the phone. It admits roughly 1,500 into the country daily (over 500,000 annually).

• Last month, it was revealed that a group of Tajik illegals with ties to ISIS were planning to attack an LGBTQ establishment in Philadelphia before being arrested. Several of them entered the U.S. using the CBP One app.

What the agencies say: They responded to the report with defensive statements, blaming detention capacity issues and passing the buck.

The last word goes to the Inspector General, who concluded: “If CBP and ICE continue to allow noncitizens - whose identities immigration officers cannot confirm - to enter the country, they may inadvertently increase national security risks.”
