Wake Up Right - October 9, 2025

`

Good morning, Wake Up Right fam! We have a lot of BIG news to cover today, but before we sneak into those stories, I want to start with someone else that “snuck in” yesterday…
Former FBI Director James Comey was arraigned yesterday for obstruction and lying to Congress about his Trump-Russia collusion hoax. It’s a long time coming for this creep, who helped Obama orchestrate a soft coup on Trump in his first term.
Rather than enter through the front and face the press, he snuck into the Virginia courthouse through the back like the cowardly rat he is.
Hopefully, this is the first of many charges.

Biden supporter started deadly Palisades fire

A 29-year-old Florida man has been charged with starting the deadly Palisades Fire – one of Los Angeles’ most destructive blazes – using digital clues that included an AI-generated image of a burning city.
The details: Acting U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli announced that Jonathan Rinderknecht was arrested and charged with “maliciously starting what became the Palisades Fire in January.”
Prosecutors say Rinderknecht set fire just after midnight on New Year’s Day, which sparked a “holdover” blaze that smoldered for days before erupting into the Palisades inferno.
ChatGPT did him in: Investigators discovered disturbing AI-generated images on Rinderknecht's devices from the months leading up to the fire – including one where he prompted it to create a “dystopian painting showing a burning forest and fleeing civilians.”
After setting the fire, he asked ChatGPT if someone could be “at fault if a fire is lit by a cigarette." The chatbot responded: "Yes."
What we know about the arsonist: Independent reports and social media posts paint Rinderknecht as a left-wing eco-extremist with a history of climate activism and pro-Democrat fundraising.
According to conservative journalist Benny Johnson, a Facebook page believed to belong to Rinderknecht featured climate alarmist posts, pro-vegan content, and a fundraiser for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
Zoom out: The Palisades Fire killed 12 people, burned 23,000 acres, and destroyed more than 6,000 structures, causing roughly $150 billion in damage.
Cali-failures: An independent Los Angeles County review released last month found “serious failures” in emergency alerts and evacuation procedures during the blaze, leaving many residents trapped in fast-moving flames.
Back up: The day after the fire started, California Governor Gavin Newsom blamed climate change.
What happens next? Prosecutors are charging Rinderknecht with felony destruction of property by means of fire. He’s facing between 5 and 20 years in federal prison. He should be liable for the 12 people who died.
Real talk from G: Newsom blamed climate change. But the truth? It appears to be an eco-terrorist trying to fuel a climate panic with a man-made fire.

Wall Street Isn’t Warning You, But This Chart Might
Vanguard just projected public markets may return only 5% annually over the next decade. In a 2024 report, Goldman Sachs forecasted the S&P 500 may return just 3% annually for the same time frame—stats that put current valuations in the 7th percentile of history.
Translation? The gains we’ve seen over the past few years might not continue for quite a while.
Meanwhile, another asset class—almost entirely uncorrelated to the S&P 500 historically—has overall outpaced it for decades (1995-2024), according to Masterworks data.
Masterworks lets everyday investors invest in shares of multimillion-dollar artworks by legends like Banksy, Basquiat, and Picasso.
And they’re not just buying. They’re exiting—with net annualized returns like 17.6%, 17.8%, and 21.5% among their 23 sales.*
Wall Street won’t talk about this. But the wealthy already are. Shares in new offerings can sell quickly but…

BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS: Israel and Hamas agree to phase one of Trump’s peace plan

President Donald Trump announced late Wednesday that Israel and Hamas have agreed to Phase One of his proposed peace framework – a deal that will free all hostages and set the stage for Israeli troop withdrawal.
Set the stage: In what will go down as a historic moment, Secretary of State Marco Rubio whispered into the President's ear during a roundtable discussion to inform him the agreement was "close." [pictured above]
The details: The key provisions of this deal include:
Hamas releases all 20 remaining hostages and 28 bodies of the deceased.
Israel will withdraw from central Gaza within 24 hours.
A ceasefire will go into effect.
There will be a prisoner swap.
Five humanitarian aid crossings will be opened up along the border.
President Trump announced the deal on Truth Social, adding:
“This is a GREAT Day for the Arab and Muslim World, Israel, all surrounding Nations, and the United States of America... BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS!”
Netanyahu confirms: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed the deal on X, writing:
“Through steadfast resolve, powerful military action, and the great efforts of our great friend and ally President Trump, we have reached this critical turning point. I thank President Trump for his leadership, his partnership, and his unwavering commitment to the safety of Israel and the freedom of our hostages.”
Key players: Trump credited Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey for mediating negotiations.
Next steps: If Phase One is successfully completed, talks will immediately begin on Phase Two, which will focus on governance, reconstruction for Gaza, and longer-term security coordination between Israel and regional partners.
A signing ceremony is scheduled for today in Egypt.
The last word goes to Nate Morris, candidate for North Carolina Governor, who wrote on X:
“President Trump doesn't just deserve the Nobel Peace Prize for getting this deal across the finish line, they should rename the damn thing after him.”
