Good morning, Wake Up Right fam! The deadline to fund the government is at midnight. Yesterday, President Trump met with Congressional leaders, but Democrats are threatening to shut down the government if they don’t get, among other things, additional funding to provide free healthcare to illegal aliens.

Let that sink in. Who do Democrats represent: American citizens or illegal aliens?

We’ll find out soon…

  • 📉 U.S. trade deficit plummeted 42.9% in 2Q

  • 2% of Hispanic Americans like the term "LatinX"

  • 🏈 Singer 'Bad Bunny' to headline Super Bowl halftime show

  • 🇮🇱 40% think Israel is killing Gaza civilians intentionally

Israel and Arab states agree to Trump’s peace framework

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and a coalition of Arab states have signed on to President Donald Trump’s sweeping 20-point framework to end the war in Gaza and chart a path to Palestinian statehood – leaving it up to Hamas to agree.

The details: At a joint White House press conference on Tuesday, Trump announced Israel had accepted his peace framework and praised Netanyahu for taking the “critical step toward peace.”

  • Arab nations that signed off on the framework include: Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Turkey, Egypt, and others.

The peace plan: The 20-point plan for Gaza includes:

  • An immediate end to the war

  • Demilitarization of Gaza

  • Hamas returning all hostages

  • Dismantling of Hamas in the region

  • A transitional governing body will oversee Gaza

Board of Peace: Trump will chair a new “Board of Peace” overseeing Gaza’s transitional governance and redevelopment, with a Palestinian committee handling daily affairs and an expert-led economic plan to attract investment, create jobs, and foster long-term stability.

The last variable: Hamas is the lone holdout in this agreement. Trump warned that if it did not agree, he would give Israel "full U.S. backing" to finish the war militarily.

What they’re saying:

  • Netanyahu: “I believe that today, we are taking a critical step toward both ending the war in Gaza, and setting the stage for dramatically advancing peace in the Middle East."

  • The Arab states released a joint statement saying they “welcome President Donald J Trump’s leadership and his sincere efforts to end the war in Gaza" and "affirm their readiness to engage."

Sidebar: According to reports, Netanyahu apologized to Qatari officials during a meeting with Trump on Monday after Israel carried out targeted strikes against Hamas’ senior leadershio in Qatar.

The last word goes to President Trump, who struck an optimistic tone on Truth Social, saying: "We have a real chance for greatness in the Middle East. All are on board for something special, first time ever. We will get it done."

TO THE MOON 🚀

“We’re going back to the Moon, and this time, when we plant our flag, we stay.”

Acting NASA Administrator Sean Duffy

The Trump administration is preparing to build a nuclear-powered village on the Moon within the next decade – the boldest commitment yet to “stay” on the Moon.

The details: Acting NASA Administrator and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said Monday at the International Astronautical Congress in Sydney that the U.S. won’t just revisit the moon – it will establish “sustained human life… not just an outpost, but a village.”

What’s the plan? NASA aims to build upon the existing Artemis program, which will carry astronauts around the Moon in 2026 and land and remain on the Moon's surface in 2027.

  • To get through the Moon’s 14-day night when solar power is not available, NASA will set up a small nuclear reactor – weighing less than 15 tons – to create enough power to keep astronauts alive, run communications, and support experiments.

  • The village: NASA plans to use mostly lunar resources – like soil mixed with binders to create cement – and employ technology like 3D printers to build the Moon base.

Zoom out: Duffy framed the ambitious project as part of a “second space race” with China. China plans for a manned lunar landing before 2030.

The goal: The mission aims to both prove that humans can live off-Earth long-term and bring the U.S. one step closer to Trump's goal of "American boots on Mars."

Back up: The last time a human stepped foot on the Moon was in 1972, during NASA's Apollo 17 mission.

What does Mr. SpaceX think? He hasn’t commented on Duffy’s latest announcement, but on November 1, 2024, Elon Musk posted, "Vote for @realDonaldTrump if you want humanity to make it to Mars!"

What happens next? Duffy committed to getting U.S. astronauts back to the Moon before Trump leaves office.

A few months ago, I was at a butcher in my neighborhood and saw a diagram of a cow, with all the cuts of meat labeled. And that gave me an idea for a t-shirt:

DOGE Butcher Shop — but instead of the cow, we use a pig. And the cuts of meat in the diagram represent all the waste, fraud, and abuse being butchered by the Trump admin.

Over the last few weeks, I worked with a really talented graphic designer who brought it to life. And on Friday I got a sample in the mail and I’m happy to say, it came out better than I’d hoped.

Also, my wife told me I had to mention that the t-shirt it’s printed on is Comfort Colors. Apparently, they’re well-known for high-quality materials. I just chose them because they are printed in the U.S. and made with 100 U.S. cotton.
