Epstein survivors push for transparency

Survivors of Jeffrey Epstein rallied on Capitol Hill, pledging to release their own “list” of abusers who were in the deceased pedophile’s orbit after the Department of Justice claimed no evidence of a formal list exists.

The details: Several of Epstein's victims spoke out, joined by Democrat and Republican lawmakers. Lisa Phillips, who claims she was groomed and abused by Epstein starting at age 21, said:

  • "I know the files contain the names of powerful men who have been shielded because of their fame or fortune.”

  • “We know the names. Many of us were abused by them. Now together as survivors, we will confidentially compile the names we all know were regularly in the Epstein world, and it will be done by survivors and for survivors.”

“Confidentially” compile: Note that Ms. Phillips said “confidentially.” That’s likely because these victims fear being sued for defamation by the men they accuse.

  • However, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has offered to use a constitutional immunity rule called the "speech or debate clause" that shields members of Congress from criminal or civil penalties when they say something on the House or Senate floors.

  • "If they want to give me a list, I will walk in that Capitol on the House floor and I'll say every damn name that abused these women. I can do that for them and I'd be proud to do it."

Back up: Earlier this summer, the DOJ announced Epstein did not keep a client list and that it had no evidence that influential figures were involved in his sex crimes against children.

The ask: Lawmakers, including Reps. Greene, Ro Khanna, and Thomas Massie used the event to push the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which would force the DOJ to release all of its unclassified files on Epstein and his co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell.

  • The files: The House Oversight Committee released over 33,000 pages of Epstein documents earlier this week, but they were heavily redacted and were mostly already seen before.

  • Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, who was an early advocate for transparency, defended the document dump, saying anything left out was directly due to victims personally telling lawmakers "they don't want their personal information to be out there."

NBC News asks about Trump: The survivors also took part in an NBC News panel, where they were asked point-blank if they ever witnessed President Donald Trump doing anything improper, to which they replied: “No.”

Real talk from G: I need to raise a red flag—not for Epstein’s victims, but for how their suffering is now being weaponized by the left and their media allies.

  • For four years under Joe Biden, Democrats showed no interest in this issue or the victims. Now, sensing political opportunity – Trump’s base frustrated over his handling of the files – they’re exploiting it with splashy headlines and primetime panel debates.

  • We should continue to push for full transparency, but as Rep. Nancy Mace reminded us on X yesterday: “President Trump is the one who banned Jeffrey Epstein from Mar-a-Lago. President Trump is the one who cooperated with the feds to get this guy. President Trump is the one who is COMMITTED to protecting women and kids.”

China uses parade to flex alliances and military power

Communist China rolled out a massive military parade to mark WWII’s end, but turned the event into a propaganda show of force – rolling out new weapons, rewriting history, and showcasing unity with Russia and North Korea.

The details: Chinese President Xi pulled out all the stops for the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, with the parade estimated to have cost $5 billion – 5% of the country’s total military budget.

  • Hardware: Beijing unveiled hypersonic “carrier killer” missiles, nuclear-capable ICBMs, advanced drones, cyberwarfare units, and even AI-powered “robot wolves.”

  • Nuclear triad: For the first time, China showcased all three of its nuclear launch platforms: land, sea, and air.

Show of force: Xi was joined by Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. South Korea’s president did not attend, but sent a delegation, showing the U.S. ally’s shifting interests under its new Beijing-friendly leadership.

  • Trump reacted to the show of unity, saying: "I thought it was a beautiful ceremony... But I understood the reason they were doing it, and they were hoping I was watching. And I was watching."

Rewriting history: China’s Communist Party used the event to frame it as having played a central role in defeating Imperial Japan. However, historians note that the Republic of China (later Taiwan) did the fighting while Mao’s communist forces largely hid.

  • Trump weighed in on Truth Social to remind them of “the massive amount of support and ‘blood’ that The United States of America gave to China in order to help it to secure its FREEDOM… I hope that they are rightfully Honored and Remembered for their Bravery and Sacrifice!”

India matters: Indian Prime Minister Modi did not attend the parade, but did visit the day prior and was pictured holding hands with Xi.

  • China and India have a long history of geopolitical tensions with one another. And in recent decades, India has been a key part of the U.S. strategy to isolate Beijing.

  • But Xi is trying to capitalize on the current rift between the U.S. and India over tariffs, saying it is time "for the dragon and the elephant to come together."

A few months ago, I was at a butcher in my neighborhood and saw a diagram of a cow, with all the cuts of meat labeled. And that gave me an idea for a t-shirt:

DOGE Butcher Shop — but instead of the cow, we use a pig. And the cuts of meat in the diagram represent all the waste, fraud, and abuse being butchered by the Trump admin.

Over the last few weeks, I worked with a really talented graphic designer who brought it to life. And on Friday I got a sample in the mail and I’m happy to say, it came out better than I’d hoped.

Also, my wife told me I had to mention that the t-shirt it’s printed on is Comfort Colors. Apparently, they’re well-known for high-quality materials. I just chose them because they are printed in the U.S. and made with 100 U.S. cotton.
